discount tire prorating my michelin pilot sport A/S
after a call to michelin i was offered 25% off on a new set of rears. apparently on staggered fitment, they will only offer 50%.
they also said my rears may have too much air in them since they were mostly worn in the middle... although the car recommends 39psi all around, since i went wider on the rears 275/35, the guy was telling me i would probably need to adjust it to like 35psi and play with it.
apparently the guy that sold me the tires and told me about the warranty doesn't work there anymore and failed to mention to me that in my case it would only be 50% prorated. guess i should have read the warranty instead of listening to him. either way, i'm on the fence of whether to take the deal and go with another set of rears that may last me more than 10k miles if i adjust the tire pressure. or i can get a set of nexen n3000 like i had before and get nearly twice the miles for half the cost.
i was offered $446 installed on a new set of rears for the michelins after the prorated discount.

actually 10k miles is pretty good lol. I have been running that hankook ventus v12 EVO and I don't even get 10k. Esp with all those hot summer spirited driving days we have here in DFW.
yeah... that happened to me... i ended up getting the rear set after having a talk with someone and explaining that i wasn't informed correctly about the warranty when i bought it... so they gave me a further discount and i took it.

i'd appreciate it if you let me know how it goes for you and at which discount tire and who you spoke with.
i've read a few things online of people getting the full warranty. i guess it's YMMV.

i don't know how they're dangerous...
i've used nexens for years...of course they're not the best gripping tires for racing but for daily driving and a bit of performance it's hard to beat them at the price... they work really well in rain as well...
I'm running 41 psi in my rears and have had the last few sets of tires wear evenly across the tread at that pressure.

"some vehicles come from the vehicle manufacturer with “split fitments”—
meaning different size tires on the front and rear axles. Because these tires cannot be rotated as recommended by Michelin, the mileage warranty on each rear tire will cover half the number of miles as the standard mileage warranty for that particular tire design."
