Euro Cars Only
I had the opportunity to drive the C63 and I fell in love with everything the car has the offer except for the price tag. In Switzerland the car is nearly 125k, ouch!!

At least you can say you have driven one. Gotta pay to play.

They also run autocrosses where you can learn a lot about the limits of your car without the high speeds of the track. Just be sure to put some painter's tape on your front bumper in case you take out some cones! (don't want cone rash)

Also, if you're really into it, a good book to read that has a chapter on vehicle dynamics/car control is "Going Gaster" by Carl Lopez/Skip Barber.

Enjoy your new baby!
Thanks much for the tips. I've just ordered the book and am eager to read it; being an engineer, it should be right up my alley. I'm also definitely going to follow up on the driving training. No sense having a car like this without knowing how to drive it properly (fast but SAFE)!

I razz my dealer that he should have made me stop for gas on our test drive to understand the true ownership experience of this car... lol

I think what truly makes it special is the combination of Mercedes refinement and a truly badass supercar motor without the censorship you would expect. There is such a duality of purpose about this car that is really tough to beat.

Yes, the gas mileage is laughable (better to laugh than cry). Roughly on par with the massive GL550 SUV.

I track my gas mileage mostly as an indicator of how aggressively I was driving that day. Around 17 mpg means I was very gentle, and 9 mpg is quite the opposite ...

The '63 is my first high performance car, and at times, I actually mute the radio so I can heard the engine roar... the best is downshift when I get off the highway... the sound, the torque, the gadgets... intoxicating!
I have a cousin with a Lamborghini (who can't realistically afford it), and its sound system is maybe the worst I've ever heard.

With the C63, I too find myself preferring to listen to the car rather than the radio. First time I've had that experience with a car!
