hey guys im having second thoughts on selling my car soon to get an audi r8. do you guys think it would be a big change since the c63 has more power than the v8 r8. any members have both cars or have driven both?

If i had a choice i'd pick the R8, but it costs 280k € here stock so that's one reason why i'll pass..
I love everything about it, although the SMG was a bit too twitchy for my taste. You however seem to have a dd car (X5 M) already though, so a little fun uncomfort shouldn't be a problem

the x5 is the family car and the c63 is my DD i only use the x5 whenever my cars in service or i need more space to put stuff. since the back seat on my c rarley gets a$$ i think it wouldnt be a problem moving to a two seater as well. the r8 would also be a DD for me more than the x5 i think

id take an r8 for sure but one thing im becoming more and more grateful for is those back seats. it would be nice to have both but if i had to choose, i would take the c63. though the supercar status of an r8 is definitely tempting.

Unless it's a V10 R8 I don't see the need to change coming from a C63. An R8 may look good to you but not until a v10 pulls beside ur V8. Keep the C63 and maybe switch it for a Black Series when it's released.

I'd pass on the R8 as well. I've never been too impressed by its looks, and I don't really see the R8 as having "supercar" status so I would never be lured to it for that reason. Although I recently saw a red R8 V10 convertible and that definitely had more presence. I think the vert suits the lines of the R8 better. But I would opt for the 997.2 GT3 in that price range personally.

Unless is the v10 5.2 I would say pass. The V8 is not worth having it, definately an underachiever when compared to its segment. Many videos of stock C6 vettes and just about any other car beating it.

I you decide for the V10 then I think is a great car but then there are other cool cars for similar of better price but it comes to the owners choice.

Plus, you are very young. I personally don't think the R8 is suitable car a very young guy. I'm not trying to sound like an *** but that's just my opinion.

Really depends a lot on what you're looking for from a sportscar. But from someone who has had both, the R8 is better than the C63 in build quality (by quite a lot, actually), has a better ride (you have to experience it to believe it), far better handling, higher top speed, and gets a LOT of attention from passersby and other drivers. The C63 has slightly better acceleration (than the V8), more practicality, and of course is very affordable when it comes to modding.

If you go with the R8, and you're used to the bark from the C63's exhaust, you might want to spend an extra bit of money to buy an aftermarket exhaust for your R8. There are quite a few options available out there for exhausts (Stasis, Capristo, Tubi, AWE, etc.). If you choose the RSC like I've got, you'll drown out the C63's exhaust completely.

Does the r8 share the rs4 engine? and if so hows the carbon build up?

R8 gets dry sump lubrication. No carbon buildup detected on mine after 30,000 km. Car feels like it did when new, only much louder.

It all depends what you are looking for and if money comes into the picture.
If sheer speed is your ticket, then a tuned C63 will walk a R8 V8 quite easily and is close to R8 V10.
I agree with Sebring Silver on all his points except top speed. Just a tune will get you 190mph. However, it is pretty pointless in the USA.
It will draw a lot more attention than the C. That's for sure. The V10 is the desirable one but at that price level, you can pick up an F430 and that is overall just a better car and will hold its value much better as well.
Good luck with your choice and post some pics if you end up getting one. You can't go wrong with a car like the R8.

R8 does sound good and you do get the notoriety. Still I'd only switch for the V10 model coming from a C63. If not for the V8 you lose 3 seats and will have similar acceleration (a bit slower actually), so that doesn't sound like a good trade. But the V10 is insane!

The R8 and C63 are vastly different cars in almost every way. Anyone who can't pick between them has to give serious thought to what they want, along with test driving both cars extensivley.

Audi's main rival to the C63 is the RS5, not the R8.

C63 gets notoriety as well. However, for a guy getting noticed by some dude who follows you with his hand out his car taking pix and vids of you driving is how do you say, CREEPY!

Not sure how'd it be with an R8 but I feel like guys in general would be looking at u most of the time. So don't get the car because of notoriety.
