Hi everyone,

I have a black C63 AMG and I want to change the color.

I was thinking about a matte color, a dark grey per example.

I don't want to do a matte black because a guy I know did it on his car. (he also has with his brother the X5M & the GTR)

Do you have any ideas/inputs for me about the matte colors which would suite the best a C63 AMG?

In that C63 pic, thats awesome. I especially like the side vent. I doubt that its functional but it would be alot cooler if it was.

as for the color, im a huge fan of the matte black but i just dont have much motivation to get a project like that started. for the members that have gotten the matte black job done, how much did it cost?

Love em both, but that matte grey is gorgeous. Almost like semi-gloss.

What the gray one is really a Steel Gray C63

and with a matte CLEAR over it

That almost looks like a steel grey with one of those 3M clear wraps, which give it a satin finish. Personally i think satin is the way to go rather than matte. Here in Australia i was quoted $14k to do a matte/satin paint job

I just noticed those side vents, love that, cant believe we have never seen those before on this forum, anymore info on them??

It's cost about $5k. Since it's only a wrap why not try this.

The matte grey is beautiful!

I don't want to get too flashy, that's why I was thinking about a matte dark grey, which means black rims, and black-out everything that's chromed.

I was quoted $3500 for a full wrap in Denver using 3M vinyl (6 year warranty)

Looks good but have in my mind that this is satin, not matte. Matte vinyl has no light reflection at all. The satin vinyl has a nice glow to it

Check out the C63 in the link in the first post. It has vents in the fender behind the front wheels. I think that is what Maverick1975 is referring to.

How hard is it to clean vinyl? Can you go through the carwash? I'd hate to not be able to go to the carwash anymore.
