Drag radials Question

Just a question for you guys.....I bought a set of ADV 19" rims with new Michelin Super Sport tires, and they are going on shortly once rims come in....what I'm thinking is keeping the stock 18's and on track day swapping out the rears only...now I know it will look odd with 19's up front and different rims...and having 18's on back, but it's just for the 1/4 mile and I don't want to burn out new rubber. I was looking to order off tire rack and pick up the BFG g-force TA Drag radial...putting them on the stock 18's (just the rears)......I don't think it should matter or cause a problem running that set on back while leaving my new 19's up front? Any thoughts? I assume the 275 BFG's will fit as well.
Can't wait to get the new tire/rim combo...I'll post pics once they go on.

you think I could run those on the rears using my 18" stock rims while still having my new 19's up front?

Might look a little goofy but shouldn't cause any issues if you keep the same overall diameter. Make sure you use steel lug bolts.

You want drag tires right, or comp tires

Running the 19s in front might not be the best idea. If it was me I'd use Mickey thompsons in the back and find a real light weight front tire for the stock 18 and use those for the track. Not a huge deal to change front and rear before the track..

19's up front and 18 in read with DR's is going to work just fine, DR's are taller any way so they will make up for the loss, plus by having 19's up front is a plus you dont have to fill you front up with air like everyone with 18's lol

i drive around with Nitto 555R's DR's daily, 285/35/18 they are the best for me i cut a 1.66 60 foot with does and ran my time in the sig with does, i tries the MT's they work great but for me Nitto's all the way Good luck.

No issues, the worst thing that can happen to your car is it will go into limp mode where you can only drive the car in 2nd gear, and once you put everything back how it was and unplug your battery for 10min everything will be fine all over again

I would never in my life use Nittos 555r 285/40/18 (thread wear 100). I just ran 25 passes (Twenty five) at the local dragstrip and I could never drop below 2.0. Mods on my signature.
I cut multiple 1.9 sec 60 with a cheaper street version of Nittos 555s 275/40/18 threadwear of 400. Tires had 11,200(worn out) and I could do 1.9 with a full 32 psi.

The Nitto 555r proven to me to be a $684 of POS pile thrown to the trashcan. I tried lowering the pressure all the way to 16psi (in incremenets of 2-4 psi), I did burn out on wet and dry and still couldn't get below 2.0. Like I said, I will never ever in my life buy them(Nitto 555R). That is all I have to say.

I couldn't tell because the car is so loud that you can't even hear it. Read this:

As Dodger says you should look at the MT DR's. I run 17" on the front and 16" on the rear for my BS. The clearances are very tight but I didn't roll the rear fenders and the callipers JUST fit.

Wow! I've been using Nitto's since March and ran a best of 1.72 60' with them and have many 60' times in the 1.7 range. They've been good to me so far.

M/T's are really good and sticky too.

When you guys are talking 285/35/18 or 275/40/18...is this on the stock wheels?

I was hoping to fit something stickier for daily driving in the summer...

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks!
