I'm going to be doing a midnight mission down there with some bolt cutters - who else is in?

Hehe, no i don't think they're just gonna keep it somewhere. I will however once again remind you that i won't be getting the car right away. It's gonna be used at the dealership for a while as a "look-but-don't-touch" demonstration car, after which i get it. I will however be able to take it out for about a week so i'll post pics then. I'll probably get the car for myself late october-november.

About 3 weeks ago, he confirmed the build date is still 7/2011, which is next month.
I was behind him and saw the ordering screen with my own eyes, otherwise I would not have believed it.
I've got a printout of the order showing P31 and the build date.
Now, lets see if it actually gets built...

Sorry to hear that Enchroot! I just mailed mine today to see if he had a build date assigned yet. I wonder if them being slow to assign build dates for the Coupe are the same as the delay for your build date being pushed out two months.

At least Jycke gets to touch and smell his C63 in the showroom while he waits.
I was told the build date affects the entire 2012 model year, regardless if it is a C63, sedan or coupe we are looking at 9/2011.

Obviously the july 17th build date is an estimation, but i sincerely hope they do not get it wrong with 2 months when there's 10 days left...i am confused however. I took all designo options available which should have pushed back the delivery date at least 2 months.

I think Jycke was refering to the extended leather for the top of dashboard. It does push the build date back.

I was told that if u scratch it most likely u need to paint most of the body and it is expensive....just ordered mine in Montreal too...magnetite black fully loaded...nov delivery...I ordered it and order was placed and accepted mid June

Okay, so I need some advice here guys. So my 63 has been ordered and they are getting ready to build it shortly. My dealer just called me and told me that the standard wheels (795) split 5 spokes amg wheels are not available and will push my order back 1 month which means I will not get the car until October 1. If I choose the optional 5 star wheels (790), then I can still get it by end of August. Will those wheels look as good or no?? What else are they going to change and say is not available until a later delivery... 1st the multi-media pack is not available, then the diamond white was not available, now the wheels.. I know eventually we can get all of the stuff we want if we wait, but I really can't wait much longer. ha-ha.... So now I am debating on quickly changing my order to the 2012 CLS 550 (non amg) and doing some wheel, tuning, etc... upgrades to it myself... I know it's not the C63 amg, but do you guys think I will be making a mistake if I go with a car that has better looks, but lacks the AMG thrill.. I mean it still has a v8 402 horse. The CLS550 will only cost me a $1,000 more and will only be a week later delivery on special order if I change the order by the end of the week my dealer said.. So I'm so confused and torn.. Need all your opinions please.. Thanks

The new CLS is a true beauty. However it is no AMG you are talking about. It may be a V8, but the only thing these two engines share is the amount of cylinders, at least in terms of character.
If the rims are the only thing your worried about, they can always be changed later on. Many tend to change to HRE's anyway along the road. Diamond white is available. As stated above mine will be delivered in the end of july with all the options available, so CF trim, interior/exterior should not be a problem.
IMO you should take what feels best, but please don't let rims make the decision for you.

The lines on the new CLS are incredible... but wait for the car you really want.
If you are like me, and end up rushing it and go with the CLS550 your heart will sink every time you hear a C63 rubmle by you.
Now, if you were talking about a CLS63 AMG, well then I'd have to say go for it.
But that car fully loaded with the AMG Performance Package (P30) is almost $110,000.

Jycke, will you be able to take delivery by the end of July, or do they hold on to it until the "official" release?
Here in the US my dealer thinks the car might be here as soon as the end of the month too, but they will keep it locked up in the local shipping port until Mercedes officially announces the car in the US.

Not to minimize it, but it's a mid-lifecycle facelift.....why would there be an "official" release.....
I think your dealer is trying to hype this up

It's not just a new hood -
Desperately needed new interior, facelift, new power steering setup, new transmission, updated suspension.
By official release I mean when pricing is available, which is not out yet, at least for the US dealers.
They are not hyping it up - they don't even know about any of the changes in 2012, as usual they are mostly clueless.
