I used plast-dip but it gets a faded dirty look probably from dirt, wax, etc clinging on to it so you have to dress it with some trim dressing. If you don't mind permanent I'd paint them matte or gloss black.

I would suggest painting. I attempted the plasti-fip method 3 times and just couldnt get it right...I'm much happier that I painted my emblems and grill flat black.

here is what i did, ( my dad owns a body shop btw) so if you have any paint related questions.. I'd be glad to help. PM me.
I took off my e46 "M3" emblem, scuffed it with a grey scuff pad.. then about 3-4 coats of spray can paint.. Forgot the name. Give it flash time between coats. (I did mine flat, not gloss) but same concept.
I've had it on my car for over a year, out in the florida sun 24/7, weekly washes, it's fine. Don't make this a more difficult task..

2008 C63 AMG
Stangxs.... hey man, I am going to be doing some of this blacking out of the trim and such too. I did some research and it seems the easiest, cheapest and be results are had with the vinyl wrap. I'll send you a link to a couple of places to get it. I am going to order some next week and give it a shot. Looks really easy to use and the results are awesome.
Do a quick search here and you'll see a few members who have done it with fantastic results. Some even noted that they tried the paint route and did not like the long term results.

I bought an AMG emblem off ebay and I wasn't happy with the quality. It looked cheap vs the OEM one. Then I bought all new OEM emblems took it to a body shop where they sanded it a little and painted it. The guy ended up messing up the AMG sign so I just put the cheap one on. I would suggest getting the OEM ones painted if you can find a good painter.
