C63 AMG Black Series revealed
For sure the exhaust tips are not connected to the pipes, you can indeed see the white paint.
I don't know why I have such a big issue with "fake" tips, the same feeling I get when I see fake air vents. The IS-F's fake exhaust is so cheesy looking.
That being said, it still wouldn't keep me from buying one of these in a heartbeat.
Time to get over it!
Yes, it is a sweet car and a great an awesome AMG, but BS AMG, not so fast

As others have said, when the CLKBS came out it was unique within the AMG lineup and a very impressive car, especially compared to what else was out there.
Today the C63BS has too many competiors available for equal money.
I think it needed 600hp+ and 200-300lb weight reduction to be an awe inspiring and benchmark car, like the CLKBS was in it's day.
It looks awesome IMO and it is a great car, but a modern BS it is not.
I agree with others that it is the car that the new C63 coupe should be.
Yes the rice wing pkg is cool and makes the car look more unique and perform a bit better (on the track), but it's not for everyone.
As for the rear tires, I agree that they should be larger, but for all of the complaints of the C63 hooking up I think you all need a LSD and you will see a drastic improvement--my car has the factory LSD and it is totally fine even at WOT with Sport Handling enabled, yes, it'll break loose in lower gear turns at WOT, but from a dig in a straight line, I can't complain much.
And the new BS will obviously be equipped with LSD.
Anyway, to sum up, I believe the new C63BS to be a great AMG, just not a BS AMG

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I tend to remember a whole bunch of people complaining about the CLK63 Black Series when it was announced as well.
All I remember was that it was not agressive enough, didn't have enough power, was too heavy and it was too expensive.
Most that now own a CLK BS quickly realized that the car was very special.
I just don't believe that AMG would build a car 4 years later that is less of a car then the CLK Black series. After all they are both based on a C Class platform.
This time you may need to get a couple of options to get the ultimate out of it but stepping back is just not their style.
I hope I am not too optimistic but I guess we will know once someone gets to drive it.

The only way this car ends up being the "game changer" all us enthusiasts hope for is if its price accurately reflects the "relatively" modest and inexpensive (think parts bin E63) improvements made over the C63 coupe. NOT being asked to over pay for the supposed exclusivity provided by being an exclusive Black Series and consequently have the value of the car drop like a brick like the CLK BS did. Mercedes should know fewer people are going to fall for that again.
I'd postulate that for the C63 BS to be a real game changer, it will have to have a base price (with NO standard luxuries and NO SUNROOF) no higher than 80k... or 85k with the aero and track packages. Sadly this isn't likely to happen and for the likely 100k plus base price that they are going to ask, people like me would require the SLS engine, significant weight reduction, and the use of a dual clutch or real stick shift manual transmission to justify the car as a quality value proposition/investment.

Value proposition/investment? I am not sure it is realistic to expect this car to have a price of 80 to 85K when a fully loaded C63 Coupe will probably run you close to 80K.
Let's be realistic, for AMG to develop a C Coupe Black series that had the SLS engine, lost 500 lbs and has a manual transmission for 500 units it would need to cost 250K.
Not we need to see it haul the bacon and we can then determine if it is "woth it."
With any luck it will be as good or better than the CLKBS though. Why would AMG make an inferior car for this market? It would make no sense. I do think the CLKBS looks much better but then again I'm biased.
As to whether or not it's worth it, I guess that depends on your bankroll, however there's no way will it compete with used CLK blacks in terms of value.

It looks like a similar design to the Renntech diffuser with built in tips.
