How much does an extended Mercedes warranty cost?

How much does an extended Mercedes warranty cost?
Looking at a few used C63's, but I would certainly want an extended warranty. Only one from MBUSA. Has anyone ever bought one? The website says they can be purchased through Mercedes, as long as the standard warranty is still en effect.

My dealer offered me and "Extended Engine Warranty" for $5000. Said he had never sold an AMG without it (they are not a high volume AMG dealer). I was also told if the extended warranty was not purchased at the time of vehicle purchase the car would have to undergo and pass an "extensive examination" when/if I did purchase the extra warranty.

I think I paid $4,300 for the 135k mile warranty. I hit them up for a discount when I was buying the car. I'd have to look at my paperwork though to be 100% sure.
The other thing is I believe I can go back and get my money back if I sell the car before the extended warranty goes into effect.

The price is based on the car's mileage, term of warranty remaining, which plan you want, dealer markup, etc. So 'it depends' is the answer unfortunately.
There are a few great 3rd party extended warranties too. I have hundreds of clients (all high-end like MB AMG, BMW M-series, Audi S/RS, etc) in NAC and Fidelity, and all of them are very happy with the claims experience.
Often in the 3rd party market, you can get longer terms for same or less money. They pay the dealer with credit card over the phone upon job completion, so all dealers will work with them.

I recommend my dealer, specifically Tim Sorrick. He is at Modesto European (209) 522-8100. He gave me a great deal on my extended warranty. I didn't buy the car from him, but he sells factory warranties all over the country. I personally prefer a MB factory warranty...no surprises and you can sell it back to them if you change your mind before your orginal warranty expires!

If i'm a second owner of the C63, can the Mercedes extended warranty be purchased? I still have about 10 months left on original. I've been told no.
Anyone else have experience with Fidelity? My Mercedes dealer is offering that and highly recommends them.

I don't see any mention of pre-owned vehicles on the US site except for CPO vehicles.

I was correct. I spoke to Tim, who was really helpful.
You cannot buy a Mercedes extended warranty once the car has been re-sold through Mercedes. If that Mercedes resold it to you, without a CPO, then you can not extend the warranty. The only way to extend is via a CPO.
However, if you are buying from another individual, or non Mercedes dealer - then you can get a Mercedes extended warranty.
Its the most backwords process ever. I don't know why Mercedes would not want my $3000-$5000 because of this silly rule.
