Stick with Hankook or Michelin Super Sport??

I would bet because an all season on this car would get eaten by the power as they would be spinning all of the time. You know what they say... all season tires are really no season tires as they are a compromise on everything.

Ended up going with some 275/35/18 Conti Extreme Contact DW tires,
tirerack couldnt give me any warranty on dws's so they gave me 20% of any Conti Tires, which made the DW's as cheap as the Hanooks!

Glad I stumbled on this thread and Im glad its in a forum where there is traffic... hopefully I can some perspective.
My dillemma is this:
My HREs on my CLS63 2012 are ready and are 20x9 and 20x11- I have a pretty aggressive offset and will be lowering the car. I hear that PSS's run very tall and I could rub versus the likes of an asian tire like Nitto or Hankook that run rounder sidewalls.
What are your thoughts on ordering either PS2's or Hankooks as I dont think the PSS's come in 305x25 (I need 305x25 and 255x30). Will I rub on PS2's? and if so what other tire outside of Kooks would you support? Toyo T1R's???

T1R's dont run wide at all, neither do the Hankooks. I highly doubt your going to rub with T1R's or EVO V12's.
I'm running aggressive offsets on my car and on Michelin PSS tires and the gap between the tire and fender is VERY close when the suspension is compressed.
Some pics....
I know its not on a CLS63 but gives you a good idea of what the wide tire, aggressive offset, drop setup will look like.

The only time I rub is when I hit a sudden dip on the freeway, other then that its normal.
I know it looks really close but under normal circumstances it doesn't rub.

what about with passengers in your car?
i tried to look up tread widths of tire sizes through out different brands, and ya PSS do run quite wide..fatty tires like RE11
but nothing but positive reviews!!

It rubs slightly on sudden dips. The main reason why they are rubbing (besides the tires being wide) is because of the aggressive offsets.
I'm sure I could've gotten away running 275 Michelin PSS while lowered on H&R springs if I had a more conservative wheel offset.
235/35/19 front
265/30/19 rear

damn...i was hoping to run 19x10 +53ish with 265/30/19 michelin pss, but looks like i'll have to get a more conservative offset to fit those tires...

Its supposedly going to rain on Friday so ill give them a try then and let you know.
Ive seen a guy on 19x10 Klassen wheels with 275/30/19 Michelin PS2 tires, and lowered on KW V3 coils with no rubbing. (its close, but no rubbing)
Here is a link.

Ok, so I decided to take the car up to the twisties while it was raining and the tires performed great!! Plenty of grip.
Didn't wanna drive too far up into the canyon since it was covered in heavy fog, and there were a few falling rocks. Overall, I'm very happy with the performance.

Thats good to hear! I wish some PSS's were in my budget right now but I just cant justify that much for tires right now. One day...
I ended up getting my conti dw's on today, they are a fat looking tire, and then was shown that inside of my rims was rubbing against the sway bar on both sides in the rear. anyone else see this before?

funny story i had a set of PS2s that came with my M3. after 8,000 miles they were finished so i decided to downgrade to ventis V12s. they were half the price. so i ran PS2s in the front and V12s in the back.
OMG powersliding was so much fun and so easy
only problem when i was going 60+ on the freeway due to the tread patterns not matching i would skip and bounce. felt like i was going to crash. how could i possible do 100mph+ safely? i went back to american tire depot and had them install the PS2s. double the price, triple the performance ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
installed PSS a few thousand miles ago, they're even better just harder to get sideways. good high speed grip and good grip in the rain.

I was actually thinking about mounting Nitto NT05's on the rear after my PSS get bald, but Im probably gonna stick with the same tires front and rear.

I was looking at new tires and picked V12s to save a buck overall. Went on Tire Rack and read some reviews and reviewed some posts here and switched my order to PSS. Think I will be happy I did.
