I enjoy a good pissing match on MBW, I am happy to be part of this dysfunctional group
Seriously, my car was ordered loaded and stickered just over $82k and I got a good discount at the time. The only other car that tempted me was a leftover 2010 e63, but I liked the fun factor of the c63.
Don't forget guys, this is not the one and only car we'll ever own again.
For me, it fit the bill nicely for my current lifestyle and budget.
Why do they sell so many flavors of ice cream?
Everyone has their tastes and for me at this moment, the c63 is the flavor of choice.
I love this car and don't regret the money one bit--after almost a year of ownership, I still smile when I park it in the garage after a spirited run!

To the OP,
You're trying to apply logic and practicality to something that exudes excess.
Sort of like trying to ask whether the ribeye at (insert any high end steakhouse) is worth the $80 when you can pick up $10 steak at the Outback.
This thread also brings to mind that often used cliche...if you have to ask how much it is...
IMO, yes, it's worth the 70k. I actually think it's a bargain.

My opinion: The C63 operates in a realm in which value takes on different meanings.
If you are buying an Accord, value is all about costs vs. comfort, space, and safety features, etc. It's an arena in which every dollar counts. Emotion and passion doesn't enter the picture very much.
If you are buying a C350 or its ilk, perceived luxury and status is increasingly an element, and there's a class of buyers that will gladly pay a premium for this. Emotion is more of an element.
The realm of the C63 is one which is all about passion. Sure, the performance must be there, and the numbers are important, but buyers are ultimately looking beyond: They are looking for an emotional connection. Putting a price on passion is difficult, but the market ultimately does that for you.
Beyond the C63, say into Ferrari territory, people aren't even buying emotion. They are buying dreams. For dreams, the sky is the limit.

I don't recall whether I mentioned it before, but I find that my driving is more aggressive when I drive my C63 as compared to my 911 - a big surprise to me. We sometimes talk about our cars being a reflection of us, but apparently our cars can change us too.

Haters gon' hate, on any level no matter what/where.
To answer the OP's question - this car is well worth every penny. Agreed, it's a steal. 2 years after the day I got it I still itch to drive it anywhere and everywhere.

Miserly mpg, exhibitionist torque (i.e. Q5 TDI)
OP, no car is worth over $20k or so. We all just happen to be nuts, deriving pleasure from cars that are bonkers from any purely rational point of view. So long as you're not compromising you finances, embrace the irrationality.

Yeah, a 4.6 with a supercharger vs. a 3.6 with turbos. On top of that, making power is just a matter of boost at that point. Further, your 800+ was done on race gas, my 700rwhp was done on pump. Boost is simply replacement for displacement...not to mention run what you brung.
Dragstrip? Thats what we're talking about? I thought you meant real racing not 10 seconds at WOT, and then 30 minute cool downs. When he can run all out at full power for 30 minutes at the road course, then we'll talk.
Btw, since you say he's run 10k miles of ALL OUT racing, I'm assuming he's made 40,000 passes? Is that about right
I sold my mustang, so alas, I can't race you...nor do online bets and challenges amuse me much.
Finally, since YOU seem unwilling to avoid embarrassment, sartorial is the art of dress or tailoring.
I said satorical, which, ironically enough, is also wrong. What I meant was satirical, as in satire, as in, my statement was meant in humor.
ok
is that cost to them, parts counter, what? I doubt mb is going to give you their factory cost for these parts.

OK, road course (TWS) 1/4 mile, and 40-160. Best 2 out of three, it just has to be done in one car.
The bet stands if you are willing to take it.

To make it more worth your while, the above (w/ the exception of the 40-160 run, in the formal competition it is 60-130, done at Hennesey's drag strip) is actually an annual competition we have here in Texas. The fastest cars come from all over the world.
There are also car meets culminating in a bikini contest, every night.
I invite you to enter the contest, as will I, and we can see if your performance can back up you Galactic BS.

I am offering to run you on the road course, bring your 993.
I will pay for your trip out, ship your car if you wish. I will also pay for your hotel.
The only excuse you have is that you like to run your mouth about things you cannot back up in the real world. For example, do you really expect me to believe your friend leased a C63 and then let you put thousands of mile on it?

My comprehension is fine....you said you thought 1/4 mile is meaningless and asserted you could beat me on the road course.

Sounds like a fair offer.
Personally I would call your bluff if I was him about shipping the car and paying for all the costs of his trip including renting the road course. But that's just me. If you wanna race my 993 on a road course I would love to take you up on an all expenses paid vaca. Let me know.

Here is what I will do: Have a 3rd party hold the funds, if he wins, 3K plus the transport costs. Lets just say a round 4K.
If I win, I get 2K.

First you say you'll pay his way out, ship his car out, and pay his hotel (presumably, just to race you, win or lose). Now you seem to be saying you'll cover those expenses if he wins.
