Just completed hard wiring in my V1 with the help of this forum thread. Many thanks to Cyberorth for the key info and pictures. A pretty simple 30 minute project.

I did have to bend the grounding terminal a bit to ensure it had adequate contact and tension to stay in place in the mirror mounting bracket.

I ended up going with the Savvy from V1. It plugs right into my port in the footwell and works perfectly.

alright, I hard wired the V1 into the overhead console. for those looking for the ground, you can't see it unless your really tall, or you push your seat all the way up so your head in up against the roof. then you can barely make out the support for the mirror. I changed the stock fork connector for a slightly thicker O connector that I had laying around the garage, and it fit nice and snug.

not sure which red/black wire I used, but the V1 does shut off after a few minutes, or if I lock the car it shuts off right away. When I open the door, it activates the V1 before I start the car. probably got the map light wire.

anyways, thanks for all the help in this thread.

Yeah I'm guessing I did the same thing. Turns on as soon as the door opens and turns off after a few minutes of shutting off.

Btw, I'll be having Premier do a hardwired stealth installation of my V1 in my upcoming C63BS. Will post pics once it's done (ETA: next month).

Yeah, the Escort Redline. It is supposed to be even more sensitive than the 9500xi.

Where is that Premier shop? Are you going to get jammers too?

Premier's in Fremont. They're also going to do a full wrap + tint for me.

Decided against jammers for now (which is why I'm not doing an Escort 9500ci installation, since that comes with jammers by default).

Sounds awesome. How long is the hard wire job? What kind or wrap are you going to get?

5 - 8 days for the full job, so I don't know the breakdown. Tint + full wrap + hardwire.

Leaning towards SatinGuard. Easier to maintain. Just wash, and every 6 months apply Dr. Beasley's matte sealant (while it's still wet!).

Ah, nice! Did you do it yourself? Or did one of the local detailers apply it?

I'm going to be doing a few coats of sealant before the wrap, mostly because I'm not fond of naked clear coat being in contact with the adhesives used on the paint film.

Research your jammers, blinder HP-905 for easier install (smaller jammer head) or laser interceptor for performance. Escort shifters provide minimal protection in comparison. Most important key is location of the jammers which unfortunately is usually in the grill and not down by the bottom lip of the bumper.

redline

I have an escort redline-using it in the Cayman R. Definitely very sensitive-more so than my 9500 or valentine. On the highway I am picking up Ka signals when they are 2-3 miles out for plenty of warning-in fact I notice I slow down too early as I am conditioned to the other detectors and how much distance they give you. Don't have my C63 and not sure what I will put in.

It depends

In Oklahoma the state troopers and sheriffs use Ka band almost exclusively so when I hear that time to slow up-K band is usually traffic warning signs or pollution of some sort so I ignore those. If you lived in a place where the police used K band you might want a unit with better filtering of false signals. The only downside to the redline is that it is not GPS capable so you can't tag false signals the way you do with 9500 series.
