Subject says it all. While I have bought over a dozen cars in my time I have never ordered one. What is the process when negotiating price on a car you order from Mercedes and what sort of discounts do you typically see versus buying one off the lot?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
You negotiate an order the same way you negotiate a car on the lot. Print out the invoice and sticker price of the car and its options and know your stuff. If you agree on a price then you will be expected to put a deposit down and the order sheet should list fees, etc.
I just did this with my M3. As to what the market is presently bearing right now on the C63 I don't know.

Thanks. Do you negotiate the purchase price upon ordering or at delivery?Originally Posted by GBlansten

I negotiated everything when I ordered and we agreed on the best lease rates offered by the manufacturer pending confirmation of my credit. Originally Posted by SolidGranite

We wrote up an order with all the figures on it and I put down a deposit. My car came in a few months later and everything went well. No surprises.
Have you considered European delivery?

Negotiate before depositing. If you negotiate after, they have a right to decline your offer and keep your money.

I have considered a Euro delivery but am not really interested in doing one.

That might depend on your location, where I am in California all the dealers need is a $1000 deposit when placing the order and it is refundable.Originally Posted by khmergod

So you're not going to negotiate price until delivery?Originally Posted by CaliSun

I placed my order at the beginning of June, a few months before the prices were announced so I didn't have a choice then. I won't leave it till delivery, around the production date I'll go see them and talk about the pricing so there is no surprises. Since the Coupe is new this year and there are production delays I'm not expecting miracles when it comes to discounts but we'll see what I can get out of them using the readily avaible M3s and CTS-V coupes as leverage.Originally Posted by SolidGranite
