CTS-V Coupe
Need Opinions!
I am still stuck between deciding on the 2012 E63 or the C63 coupe, and I can't decide for the life of me! One day I'll make a decision to go with the C63 coupe, but then I think about the 5.5 biturbo and the styling I like more on the E63. So I decide on the E63, but then I think about the more visceral experience with the C63 with the 6.2, because at the end of the day I do want an engaging car. But then I think about the prospect of losing to a mustang in a straight line, and the anorexic 235/255 tires which can't get any traction. So then I go back to the E63, and I am concerned about the overly aggressive ESP killing the driving experience. But then...Well, you get the idea.

No question: 2012 E63 with the 55TT is > 2012 C63 coupe or Sedan.

2014 CTS-V (6spd, phantom grey), 2010 Cadillac Escalade ESV (black raven)
Of the 2 cars, I like the styling of the C63 better. I think the E63 rear looks too reminiscent of a Hyundai, not that there is anything wrong with that...
Did you consider the upcoming C63 Black Series?
I am not sure of the pricing, though...

E is much better and more comfortable than the C. Your question should be if it's worth the 30k difference. Why don't you buy a F10 M5 instead of the E63 and keep the CTS-V. M5 is a brand new car unlike E63 which has been on the streets for 2 years.

Really tough decision... I think I would go for the E63. Would you get it with the performance package? Definitely get the lsd if it's not a standard option.
For me, straight line performance is more important than handling and when you add in the greater comfort, room, and luxary of the E, it would be my choice. But I hear the exhaust isn't very loud, so that would sort of be a downside IMO. But, maybe find an aftermarket solution.

I sure hope they don't keep it as a E63 when it should be called E55 Biturbo.
That would be super gay.
I bet there is going to be tuning options galore on the new biturbo engines.
I do believe you can turn off the ESP, so I am not sure why you are worried about that?? Every time I jump in my car its the second button I press after start. Can't stand that ESP...
I think that E55 Biturbo would be an awesome car.

I just recently drove a new CLS63 with the 5.5tt with the 6.2L on a race circuit about two weeks ago, so full on fast laps, no doubt the 5.5tt is quick, and it sounds nice, but like others in our AMG Driving Academy group, hats off went to the 6.2L in sound and muscle every time. The new 5.5tt is definetely a technical marvel, but the brawn and distinctive sound the bigger V8 has is no match for shear thrills and giggles. Keep in mind that the 6.2 will not be around forever so its a keeper. These new generation V8 twin turbos are going to be around for a while, so you could sample say a C63 coupe or Black Series then eventually graduate yourself to a more of a family car in the E class. If you are not over the age of 45, then my humble opinion is that the E class can wait.

If its your primary car then the E63 would be the better choice. If it is a secondary car then go with the C63. Its funner. I don't know if age plays a difference for you. I'm 30 and couldn't see myself in the E63 just yet. Its to grown up.

Car and driver claims to have achieved a 0-60 in 3.8 seconds in the C63 coupe with the performance pack. Not to many Mustangs can do that.

I know I previously said I value straight line acceleration more than the twisties, but today I hit a beautiful mountain road and I know the E63 would have felt too big. Even the few hundred lbs would have been felt. But, that's the first time I've hit a road like that since owning a C63 in over a year. So, I would still favor a faster car in the straights.

I drove both cars before deciding. Before driving them I was sure I wanted the E63. After driving I was sold on the C63. Its more fun to drive, rides rougher, and is louder...the E63 was too soft for me. BTW, I'm over 45. If you want a quieter, more comfortable ride then get the E. If you want more of a muscle car, its the C.

CTS-V Coupe
I know the new 5.5 E63 will be faster than the CTS-V, but how would a C63 hold up against it? I know the C63 is a bit lighter, but also down 100 horsepower (without p31) and a little more than 100 ft-lbs torque. Wow, now I have flopped back over to the C63 side...

The E63 has self adjusting rear suspension (airmatic), guaranted to fail 30 days after your warranty runs out. I wouldn't own a MBZ with any self adjusting suspension. You're just looking for trouble. With a C63 you can get the HP bump with the P31 package or after market tuning. How often do you ride in the back seat anyway?
