180F Thermostat and Thermal intake gasket worth it?

Hello, guys hope everybody doing well, I got the Mishimoto racing thermostat installed last week, but the problem is the fan that mounted on the oil cooler (passenger side) went to high speed immediately. The fan is always at high speed!! never turned off after the thermostat being replaced. Anyone got the same problem?

So the only difference with this mishimoto thermo is it activates at lower temp? Says in the description activates at 180f vs stock 212f but thats seems strange as mine is standard and activates at 180f as thats is when the blue numbers turn to white.

When the blue numbers turn to white has zero relation to what temperature your thermostat opens at. You can read in your owners manual what the blue-to-white means, and then you might Google how car thermostats work. You have a 87C (188F) like everyone else who hasn't replaced theirs with a 180.

Are your LTH collector and mid section "slip-on's"? It looks like you have brackets welded to both sections and bolted to keep them together. Am I seeing that correctly? I've seen a set-up where they have done this to their entire system, but have used springs rather (similar to aftermarket mufflers on motorcycles).
I had thoughts if it this would or could work pre cats....

Bringing back this thread to life, I bought the mishimoto 180T for my 2013 coupe and asked my mechanic to install it. Also orders a new housing as he was worried about the plastic nozzle piece on the old housing will break.
He called back and said he does not think it will work for my car as it does not have what looks like an activator on the top of the OEM thermostat. Anyone knows if there was a change on the FL cars?

I don’t remember exactly what it looked like but don’t think it had that piece on the end either. I could be making this up, but I swear I read something about the Mishimoto thermostat being a different internal design so maybe it just doesn’t require the use of that part (i.e. it’s just a different type of thermostat).

Did you even notice much from it or it a waste of time and hassle?

Tough to tell as I didn’t accurately log temps before/after. Noticed that water temps were a few degrees lower in various driving conditions, even dipping into the 170s at times, and posted that feedback on another thread. Then did the 44O kit and other cooling mods shortly after, so now it’s tough to attribute better performance to specific components. We’re talking about an interconnected system where the combination of enhancements working together provides greater benefits than the parts would individually. The concept is proven so I imagine it must have helped to some degree.

If the car doesn't have water cooling issues (which I believe is the case here), it's a complete waste. The set operating temp is designed that way (oil is a different story).
If it's a track only car and doesn't require glycol, MoCOOL or Water Wetter would be far more beneficial. A lower tempt thermostat is basically a band-aid solution for some other problem that should be addressed.
Tons of info available on the internes.

If you make other improvements to the efficiency of the interconnected system and upgrade cooling capacity well beyond the OE parameters, a lower temp thermostat would certainly help. As I said above, it’s more the combination of improvements working together rather than an individual component making a difference.

If the engine is already within its designed (ideal) operating water temp, opening the thermostat earlier is a waste of time. It's not "helping" anything but your feelings.
It could actually end up being worse overall. You can't make a blanket statement like you just did without factoring all the variables.
Coolant temp is NOT directly coupled to oil temp. If coolant temp is already good, don't mess with it.

All of the temps are “coupled”. Making improvements in one will improve the others.
i.e, reducing intake air temps has been shown to reduce oil temps (see: radiator block off plate).
Cooler water temps, which cools the engine through which oil also flows, has a knock-on effect.
I’m not going to get into a debate on this, there’s plenty of data out there already to support.

Can you please provide the statistical data on your 180F thermostat being beneficial?
My "opinion" is based on research and years of racing experience on other platforms. This platform for racing is relatively new to me, if you have the data to back up your claims that would be excellent.
You state cooler water temps blah blah this that, if it's already within spec, making it cooler has absolutely zero advantage.
If a module in a multi module system is operating within spec. There is no need to augment it.
