Buying a CPO C63 Tomorrow-what to look out for?
Any suggestions on what to inspect or be aware of?

It has huge wheels on it that will be sold or traded off. Not sure what to think that may mean regarding how it was driven in the past.

How does a buyer know that the car is certified? This is at MB dealer. Is there paperwork that affirms the certification? As of 3pm today, my local MB dealer (not who has the car) showed the vin as not belonging to a certified car. Should I be worried?

what is a CPO? is that a certified prior owned? asl for a CARFAX report at least.

Yes, it is the Mercedes dealer network's certified pre-owned status. It implies an inspection was done, the condition meets a high standard and an extended warranty comes with the car.

Be careful on carfax i thought they were a little more comprehensive than they are, they are just a tool to help and very hard to get ahold of by the way

The sale contract should indicate the car as a certified pre-owned vehicle with disclosures on the extended warranty. Also request the pre-owned inspection report the dealer is required to send to MBZUSA to certify the car.

Make sure to run a paint meter on the car. Clean carfax doesn't mean anything. The car might have involved in an unreported accident before. And yes, dealerships CPO cars with paintwork on them without telling you. Be careful.

Thanks for all of the info. If I can't tell by looking at it that it has had paint work, how much weight should I give to say a repainted fender?
