I get much less body roll than the OEM contis. Check your tire pressures. Also, PSS need time to wear off the mold release... mine were squirmy for a couple of hundred miles and then WAY better.

I cannot say enough or give any more praise to the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's. I am on my second set of rear RE-11's and could not be any happier with them. I have the 19 inch OEM Multispokes and run 245/30/19 fronts and 275/30/19 rears with absolutely no rubbing. On my first non LSD c63 the stock Pirelli Pzero Rossos were toast in less than 3 months of not overly aggressive driving. On my second LSD c63 the RE-11's have lasted aproximately a year. My LSD C63 is amazingingly grippy with the RE-11's, much harder to break loose than my non LSD c63 with Pirellis. I recently switched my F355's tires from Michellin PS-2's to PS Super sports. Dry grip seems a bit better than the PS-2's. I really wanted to put the RE-11's on the Ferrari but noted that Tire Rack Price for comparable Michellin PS SS's were. Cheaper. I wanted to try out the new Michellin's, and I am happy with the Super Sports so far. However, when I will replace the AMG and Ferrari tires again in the future I will do it with the Bridgestones! The tires are that good!

i love the RE11's. had them on my C43, and the RE01R's and SO4's before that. i reserved judgment of the RE11's on the C63 since i didn't know how my experience with them on my 43 translated over to the 63, but glad to know that they are just as good on the 63! i will definitely be switching back over to bstones when my michelins get worn out.

arent the threadwear on the RE-11 a little too low? maybe for a track/weekend car it would be fine.

Have any of you C63 drivers any experience with Yokaham Advan V103's as I am having problems tracking down PSS 255x30 rears?

Mine came with Yokohamas on it. Seem pretty good when heated up but are pretty expensive to replace (had a puncture on one). I will probably switch to GoodYear Eagle F1 Assyms or Vreds when they need changed.

Thanks for the feedback, interestingly I have also been looking at the Vredenstein options..... Is there much road noise with the Yokahamas?

What PSI are you running? I have it at cold 38PSI but when they warm up its 40-45psi. Should I run lower?

By the time you decide to swap out the stock tires the backs will be worn out anyway. I'd use up the stock set them move to Michelins

Havn't noticed due to the constant need to make the exhaust rumble! They seem quiet though compared to Bridgestones on the S3 which are awful for noise. Quite easy to get the TC light on at 70 in the wet in Sport+ however.

All tires spin with cars with as much power as ours... it isn't the tire.

The only tires that grip better would be much more extreme tires like the RE-11/AD-08 or R-compound racing tires. In the max performance summer category and below, the PSS would have the highest overall level of grip based on independent testing.

Do you have LSD on your car? Does it help a lot?

I went ahead and ordered 4 PSS on tire rack tonigt to replace the Yokohamas that came on the car. I used 3 rear set for 1 front set and could not manage more than 5000 km per set... and I'm not even that agressive driver on stratup! Plus I found the grip really poor on the Yokos. I hope I wont be dissapointed with the PSS!

I do... all of my cars (M3 and C63) have had LSD's so I can't comment if they help as I have nothing to compare it to without an LSD (other than slow cars ). I have to believe the LSD makes a real difference.

C63 Coupe Edition 1
The LSD on the C63 makes a big difference. I got the Edition 1 so couldn't get the factory LSD and for the month I drove without it I had to tiptoe around when it rained or I'd spin the wheels at the drop of a hat. Also I live near San Francisco and I actually couldn't pull into some steep driveways or parking garage ramps at low speeds because the rears would lose traction and spin trying to get up the slope. I always had to back up and get a momentum to get me started up the ramp.

I got the OS Giken LSD installed and man is it hooked up now. I had it at Thunderhill race track with traction control off with the stock Advan Sports and doing alright.

I have an LSD and the PSS were great for 4 months but I have shredded the rears and need something new. I can be in C with traction on and when I push more than 50% throttle Im spinning. -Its bad. Im trying to get Hankook RS3s for Saturday.

Yes,
I agree. LSD makes a big difference in the traction on our cars. The effect can be pretty dramatic when driving a non LSD car and LSD car back to back. Keep in mind the increased traction with LSD is better for safety and likely time on a track, but does not make the car any "more fun.". There is something insanely fun about the non LSD C63 when you are able to whip out the back with ease despite having traction control fully on. This car is a beast!

I love the Michelin PSS. This is perhaps the best all around performance street tire - grip, turn in response, noise level, wet performance, ride comfort are all very decent. Even pricing is pretty reasonable on Tire Rack. As others have mentioned, the PSS isn't going to outperform RE-11 or AD08, but I think the PSS is a best choice for a car that spends 99% of its time not on a racetrack.

After 7k miles, the fronts were at 6/32 and the rears at 3/32. The rears got down to 4/32 after only 5k miles, but wear rate seemed to slow down after that. I picked up a nail near the sidewall of a rear tire, so had to replace the rears. Otherwise, I think they would have lasted another 2k miles.
