Another option would be Bridgestone RE-11 or Yokohama AD-08. Both have slightly more dry traction than the PSS. The big advantage of both of these in my experience is that they have a much stiffer sidewall than the PSS. The assists with response and much less roll over which on heavier cars (like the C63 or my current M3) makes a noticeable improvement.
The downside is a slightly stiffer ride, especially on the AD-08. The RE-11 are only a slight trade off in comfort for the advantages noted above. Oh yeah, PSS have better tread wear too
For street driving, the PSS are the best. If the car sees track time, I would personally lean towards RE-11. I ran both on my M3 and enjoyed the steering response and grip improvement of the RE-11 over the PSS but mainly because I get out several times a year to the track. When my C63 arrives, I will swap out the wheels (and use them for winter wheels), sell the OEM tires and put after market wheels and RE-11 tires on the car.

I'm not gonna get my car into a track or drag , it'll be street driving ..

I did cord the drivers front sidewall last day out but it was more a matter of my under inflating the tire and running 15 hot laps before I realized I was cooking the tire. If your tracking with the PSS (road course) keep the PSI at 44 to 45 lbs hot, to avoid my error.

This topic is very subjective. To me the best tires are the one that cost the least and last the longest but that is my criteria. Some of you might say that cheaper means less quality but not really. Some manuacturers are cheaper than others, Michelins and Pirellis are expensive while Nittos are much cheaper and Sumitomos are even cheaper than that. Typically the lower the thredwear the more sticky and the more expensive.

I switched my C63 to Nitto NT555s and they are great in dry weather but absolutely frightening when it rains.
+1 on these. Got these on my Challenger SRT8 and they are amazing in both dry and wet weather. Best tires I've ever used.

I'll be replacing my rear tires soon and will definitely look into the Michelin's. I've got the stock 18's and was wondering if I could get wider tires. If so, what sizes would you guys recommend?
I'm not the most knowledgeable on tire sizes so thought I would ask.

themailman34 right now i'm running 235/18 in the fronts and 265/18s in the rear with no issues at all, but I know people have run up to 245 fronts and 275 rears on the michelin PSS.
Also imo the best tires hands down for all around use are the Michelin Pilot Supersports

I hear that the Dunlop SP Sport Max GT is a good tire and has high performance. It is quite expensive, though. But you may want to do more research about it.
The Michellin tires, on the other hand, are also an excellent choice

C63 AMG modified to RENNTECH C74
Prior to my modification (RENNTECH C74) I used sumitomo tires on 19" wheels (235/35/19 and 275/30/19). The current configuration is Michelin PS2 245/35/19 and 305/30/19. Subjectively speaking, I miss the sumitomos! The PS2s somehow feel not sure footed and completely lack character. They just... felt bland... On the other hand, the sumitomos, while being stiffer thus less comfortable on bumpy roads, gave me the feeling of being more attached to the road. It almost feels "sticky" and the feedback of the road surface is very sharp. The Michelins in comparison feel numb and lifeless!

I have Pirelli PZero Nero All-Seasons on mine. Drove ~1k miles so far. No track time, though. I expect on the track these guys won't hold up well.

Maybe its just me but I just put PSS 265's on and I dont know how to describe it, but the handling feels a tad off. not sure if going from 255 to 265 is causing this. Doesnt feel as precise and I am getting I think more body roll when changing lanes.
