I love the ride, we came from a standard E-class, so im farmiliar with comfort... this beast is balanced as far as daily driving. I have not had a chance putting the MCT through its paces. I'm being very conservative and has been driving in C mode only since a big decal in my windsheild constantly reminds me of not going beyond 4500 rpm. Im very familiar with dual-clutch trannys from my former GTI and EVO X MR, so I should have a good comparison going soon.

For the rest, thank you for all the props. I still can't believe this thing is in my garage.

Did we get duped? So after much thought about my wheels being the older model design and that the 2012 model has different wheels as someone mentioned. I also looked over our window sticker and it does say 18" AMG 5 Twin spoke light alloy wheels.

What is the wheel description of the older wheel model and should I pursue the new wheels or stay with it?

I am partial to both designs but getting an older model wheel just does not feel right.

When I put my 2012 order in I had the choice of the older and the newer rims. I actually went with the older style because I liked it better.

if the description says "5 twin spoke" then you should have the newer style wheel. the older one is 5 single spoke. I'd double check with the dealer if you prefer the newer style.

What about the two front seats? Is the coupe the only model to get the new looking seats with the headrest pad or whatever you want to call it?

Although I believe those only comes with the coupe. I do like the one piece design better than with the separate head rest. to me it mimics the normal race seats so I don't have qualms about it.

So I got a call back from the dealer and I have an appointment on Friday to see if it is possible to put in the 2012 twin spokes. Now I'm concern I might not like it as much as the single spokes as far as style go. Do you guys prefer one the other and whats your reason behind it. Are the new ones lighter?

I have the older single spoke style on my 2012. it's what my car came with so I didn't have a choice. but I would still choose them over the new twin spokes because the face of the wheel is more concave and looks more aggressive in my opinion. either way both styles are nice looking wheels.

I got the newer style wheels with my car. The new wheels are the default standard on the car in Australia but the older style is available as a no cost option. Either way I would have chosen the twin spokes anyway.

I think the twin spokes suit the more elegant styling of the 2012 upgrade. I also think they show off the massive brake discs and calipers to better effect as you can obviously see between the spokes. Up close you'll note that it is only the "face" of the spokes which are finished in silver. The remainder of the wheel (including the hub) is in a nice gun metal finish which sets off the spokes nicely.

According to the order guide I have, the older style is described as:
Code 790 AMG 18-inch 5 spoke allow wheels with titanium finish
and the new style as:
Code 795 AMG 18-inch 5 twin-spoke alloy wheels.

I prefer the new twin spoke wheels but that is just personal taste. Pictures do not do them justice.

I appreciate all your input. I like them both and I will go ahead and pursue the twin spokes since it is what should be on the car plus just by looking at the design it's likely that it's lighter than the 2011. Hopefully I can convince the dealer to do the same.

Well... she did trade my EVO X for the CR-Z, and that made me sad. And it did took about 3 months of convincing her the awesomeness of the AMG. But it was my birthday the day we got it also, so that helped.

What was amazing was as soon as she saw the 2012 AMG car at the showroom there was no need for me to say anything else.

So if I were you just take her in and say your buying a part or going for service them slip her in the sales area and show her the ride!
