Finally Hit Them!!
And by them, I mean the first 1,000 miles!
RACESTART IS RIDICULOUS....
Couldn't dream of launching the car any better myself - totally nuts.
I can't wait to get my tune and roast the next idiot who thinks his pickup truck is faster than my car. LOL - gotta love dem good old Indiana boys...
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CAR (stay tuned, mystery valvetronic exhaust system coming....)
Cheers,
Chris

i have not hit 1000 yet but i did put it into launch mode for fun when i bought it. have not launched it yet though.
im glad that it works good for you. i read that the launch control was a monumental failure in a couple of mags. i cant wait to try it.

LMAO about the above comments about trucks....must be pervasive in that market segment if so many of us have had the same experiences.
big truck and big ego = little ***** (that is, great insecurity)

The system is uber simple if you read the blurb in the manual - wheel straight, bury the brake, sport traction mode, twist the knob, flip the paddle, bury the throttle, and release the brake.

interesting on the complication...I haven't had any...there was a learning curve but the most important step is engaging the brakes hard enough.
After that, it is a simple turn of the wrist, flick of the paddle and smashing of the accelerator - then, it's on to infiniti and beyond!
It is of course necessary to rinse and repeat!
Will be curious to see if this feature has a positive effect on 1/4 mile times this spring...

So, is the launch control process something you can actually use in conjunction with the staging light tree at a dragstrip? I'm thinking how the car inches forward and then the Pre-Stage light comes on, indicating that the driver is close to the starting line, followed by the stage light etc etc? Those who have done this will know what I'm getting at.....

Coffee mug is Attention Assist ... my car says its on but Ive tried to trick it by pretending to fall asleep but I could never get it to say Im feeling drowsy. I guess its a lot smarter than I though

The attention assist gathers information based on steering wheel movement, throttle variance, radio volume changes etc etc etc etc etc. You can't get it to turn on just by wiggling to the side of the road :P

haha no thats what Lane Keeping Assist is for I hope someone will have it go off so we know how to engage it, it could be useful if we can make the car tell us to rest......

ive read the manual on that coffee mug and i had to laugh. it probably starts beeping at you after you have flown off the road and are hugged nicely around a tree

Not in the way I think you're hoping for. Once RS is activated, you cannot inch forward without either fully launching or disabling the system. So it pays to both know the system well AND be the first to stage. After you've got your second set of lights on, hammer the brake, twist the knob, etc.

Thought I should film it for you guys...

*please pardon the iPhone video quality and my lack of film skills
Another thing I noticed from playing with the race start is that it will cancel if left on for too long so make sure to disengage the brake quickly otherwise it shuts off. I noticed this at a light while I had it on waiting for it to turn green! Once it cancels it won't go back into racestart until the car is restarted.

Is there any type of aftermarket bypass setup available for RS mode to make it easier tinyst at the strip? Something that takes the paddle out of the equation at least. Even better would be just a single button you could push after hitting the brake.
Surely some electronics person could figure this out?

Mine yelled at me to make a rest stop during a recent trip. Not sure exactly what set it off but I was a bit tired.
