2012 c63 with extended warranty and no reason to use even the factory warranty yet with 35,000 blissfully uneventful miles (there were smoking tires and drifting events but no failures)!

Had radio failure at 3000mi, entire unit replaced..no problems since.
-Rattles- same as the other cars, not worth chasing down.
-Creaking roof- hasn't snapped in half yet , so not chasing it down. - though the one post above that mentioned the hardware may have snugged up and taking the creaking sound away , I may pursue.
- Engine misfire about 5000mi- left the house cold one morning, just 2 minutes after startup , engine stumbled bad-Engine light>, felt like major internal failure- towed it in- > on restart at dealer, ran fine but code revealed only 4 cylinders firing> fix was nothing -just a restart(reboot).
-New problem last week electric steering wheel tilt won't come down cold after lifting for driver entry- drive 5 minutes, toggle the lever a few times and eventually it works. Any feedback ??

Otherwise just oil changes myself, air filters once , just did brake pads myself( non PP) , used a Centric pad (OEM equivalent they called it), only $100/axle- I figured what do I have to loose- Rotors looked great after 38,000mi. btw I tried to order the OEM MB pad from two different online suppliers- mentioned on this forum, and both never responded after a full week, so I just went to the local parts house.
In summary my 2012 coupe -stock- has been a reliable daily driver. I enjoy the stealth of this sleeper. Seat is superb, tranny is fun, interior is nicest I've owned. A more enjoyable DD, than my worked corvette I drove before.

Anything to look for on an 09 with 70k? Or is that mileage nothing to worry about?

Hi Hansamg

I have had my car back twice to fix this problem a couple of years ago. So has my mate.
They removed the roof and installed it. No more rattles or creaks.

The dealer only a couple of months ago replaced the faulty motor under goodwill.

They also replaced the battery.

I'm coming up the replace my P30 brake pads. They are squeaking badly
I might go after market the ones with low dust
Any suggestions you have be great.
Genuine brake pads in Australia are very expensive about $900 for front & back plus fitting

Hope this helps

I've got some Porterfield R4S waiting to be installed. All the reviews I've found said they're a big improvement over stock!

Has anyone experienced rattling rear seats? The right rear seat on my coupe does this.
When I fold it down, it stops, for a while, then starts again. I raise it up and it stops, for a while, then starts again.
It's not a huge noise and not that annoying, but I'm interested to know if anyone has had this?

No Major Issues
Mt 2011 C63 AMG is rock solid! It now has just over 41k miles and other than regular maint, and minor little things that every car under sun has, no issues.
As for the supposed engine issue, thats bogus! these engines are knows to consume oil, so people with no brains for maintaining a car levels oil and or abuse the &^&% out of them will have problems. The bogus cam issue is just that, bogus. Take care of your car, regular maint. and you will have zero problems!

The head bolt problem is real, so is the lifter cam problem. Ask me how I know. Cam adjusters also go out. Once you sort those out the remaining problem will be rear tires. If you get 10k out of a set, consider yourself lucky.

My Genius fail
My Genius does not work on all 63's. Eurocharged spent weeks trying to figure out why. No solution other than pin tuning it. As far as resonator delete, the stock is flow through, so the only difference is sound, unless you delete the secondary cats.

this seems to be the case with my car. i take it to a shop to get custom dyno tunes and usually they go through the port but for my car they have to remove the ecu

ETA: I was planning on occasionally driving mine but it's getting driven daily when I'm home. 13k mi and no problems. Maybe a bit of an exhaust rattle (resonance) on startup but nothing else.

Quote: When I drive in C mode I just paddle down if the revs drop too low. I like to keep it around 2000 rpm cruising around town and in reduced speed zones.
I'm coming to this point. In my 911/996, there's no way I would drive it around town at 1500 rpms. I'm thinking I need to paddle shift on a regular basis. Get the revs up into the 4-5000 range every time I go out.

Considering a C63. 2014 Owners help
I've been considering a C63 for a while and I want to sell my current S4 that has 70k miles. My dad bought a mercedes s430 around 2001 and its been dead in the garage since 2011 lol! Basically my dad really doesn't like mercedes because he bought the s430 for like 90k back in 2001 and now its basically worth nothing. Too many malfunctions the last time we put a new battery in it.

Since then my family has always stayed away from mercedes but I found a 2014 C63 AMG sedan for 47k and it has around 17k miles on it. Are there any problems that I should know of? I really want to hear back from the 2014 owners because I have already read complaints about the 2012 and below and those are scary.

The major catastrophic head bolt/lifter problems where corrected mid M/Y 2011. The 2014 have no known inherent problem except for AMG penchant for eating rear tires every 10 k miles and sucking gas like a 426 hemi. Price and miles seem right and its the C63 with a 6.3 liter engine in it.

Can you tell me more about the rattle. Mine does this too, almost sounds like it's spitting out water or something. Only does it when parked outside and colder (I think). It rattles at startup but no other times. Then once warm it won't do it again... I have 12k miles on it. Thanks!
