I have had 2 C63's now, first an 09, now and 12 coupe. Neither car has had a rattle or squeak to speak of. It must be hit and miss in this area. Nonetheless, there should be a higher standard by Mercedes to insure a car free from rattles. It should not be hit and miss.

I love our 2012 C63, & I'm certainly not worried enough about these rattles ("vibrations"..as I've mentioned in my case), to wake up dreaming about them, but this car definitely has more "noises" that our recently sold HSV GTO Coupe which cost around half the money.
So for me, it's just a little surprising, & I guess a little disappointing, that a car of this calibre would have these issues.
And, I sure as hell ain't gonna let my Dealer loose on the dashboard, when he doesn't really know what's causing the vibration....as another has said....it could come back with four times more.
Cheers, Pickles.

I think our common problem is that we all purchased C-class. Whatever AMG did to our version of C-class made it fast and furious but it's still one of the lower MB platforms!
I remember a conversation that I had with one of my friends who was a sales man at MB for quite a while and now he is with Audi. He said that the problem of MB is that with the lower segments as C or B you don't really get MERCEDES the way we all expect it. MB has those segments just to fill the gap on the market. While A4 and 3 Series get you much better quality. I never thought it's true until I bought my 2012 C63 Coupe and in a week literally anything possible inside start rattling, squeaking... First I couldnt belive that 80k MB can be like that until I realised that AMG did the performance part but the rest of it is a regular C class and my firend was unfortunatelly right!!!
Taking mine to MB on Wednesday to fix the inside rattling noise.
P.S. Mercedes if you ever read this, shame on you

I don't really know about this but I do know as a former Audi A4 owner that while the Audi looked more beautiful when new it aged faster. Within 2-3 years the interior was looking worn out whereas on the Mercedes C-class it seems to age like fine wine.Originally Posted by NovA_S

I have to agree with you on that as I owned A6 and it had the same problem although it was a solid car with no noises.Originally Posted by GMW

This thread is making me reconsider the C63. My 7 year old C55 has over 160,000 miles on it and it has had no real issues. No rattles or squeaks either. quiet as a mouse and still fast. Not C63 fast but still fast :-)
Now I'm not sure if I'll get a C63 or E63.

I'm not sure what 'rattling' and 'vibrations' everyone is talking about. Are these issues contant and blatantly apparent to the point where it annoys you when you drive?
I went from a 2010 C300 to a 2009 C63. Neither one of those did I experience rattling or odd vibrations.
I definately feel more vibration in the C63, but that's cuz it's an AMG!
The car has about 26K miles on it. I hope things do not start falling apart or coolant start leaking.

lol. Because of the great memebers on this site, I have purchased a 4 year/75K miles extended warranty through my credit union for only 3k in anticipation of the 'coolant issue.' Hopefully, that will provide me with some peace of mind.
And yes...I am/will 'enjoy the beast.'

mikekuriger, I wouldnt reconsider the c63 b/c of a few rattles its still a great car. I assume MB cut some corners with fit and finish to rush the release of the coupe. Remember this is still a first year model so maybe they will work the kinks out.
I am little hesitant to bring my new c63 into the dealer only for them to remove the back speakers, rear brake light, and dash to chase after these squeaks and rattles.
Some people here are more in tune with rattles then others. I use my c63 as a dd to and from NYC, and the rattles have only gotten worse and yes it does annoy me when price tag is 80k for a car regardless if its c-class.
I might break down and bring it to the dealer to see if they can do anything.

maybe you have too much air in the tires? I notice a lot more noise if the tires are much over 32psi. the tire place always pumps them up to 45 or 50 which I hate. plus the tires wear out really fast at that pressure.

Yep, I've got a few "vibrations", which I think a car of the calibre of ANY "Mercedes" should not have......therefore, do I regret buying our C63?....NO WAY!!.....You will REALLY enjoy yours, if the C63 is the sort of car you want....but, it ain't for everyone.Originally Posted by mikekuriger

There's no way ya'd run 32PSI in a C63, or any car with similar tyres....I think 39/41 are the right numbers for the C63.
What I reckon is, for you to get down to your Dealership, have a long drive of the C63, & see what ya reckon!

I know a number of people who had rattling noise in their C63s and after taking it to MB for repair noise was gone forever. So in reality it's not a big problem at all and the car is just AMAZING!!!!!Originally Posted by mikekuriger

The W203 chassis was MBZ effort to mass market an affordable benz. It may be there worst offering in recent memory. The W202 was build like an old benz but wasn't very successful do to its high comparative sticker price, spartan interior, and conservative styling. The W204 chassis was MBZ way to regain their reputation as a builder of high quality luxury vehicles at an affordable price. The C63 is a screaming bargain for what you get (head bolt issues aside). I'd never buy a MBZ that has autoleveling suspension as they alway fail and usually when the warranty runs out. Hence I've stuck with the C class AMG and would consider and AMG SLK.

My rattle are on the instrument panel area and somewhere on the glove compartment. But they don't happen all the time only when Im driving like an old man and act like it. I agree that taking this to the dealer for warranty work is all it is. I'd rather wait until at least a year so I don't feel to bad them opening up the interior.
The only problem I had with my '09 C63 which I had for three years was a funky smell to the A/C. It was especially bad on startup. I have never had that happen with a car.

As I can see you drive M3 now. I wanted M3 but leaned towards MB so end up with C63 coupe. Could you please tell the difference? Thanks.Originally Posted by GBlansten

My 09 C63 came off lease last summer. Too soon to get a C63 coupe unless I wanted to extend my 09 lease and wait.Originally Posted by NovA_S

I did not want another sedan (married and no kids).
I didn't trust my MB dealer based on prior experience to be able to get me a C63 soon enough after they came out and I figured I would pay through the nose.
So, I ordered a E92 in anticipation of my 09 coming off lease and delivery went well.
Since getting the M3 I enjoy driving it a little more than the C63. I loved the hell out of the C63 btw. No regrets.
But, I like the expanded customization of the M3 settings (suspension, throttle, steering) and I like the handling a little better.
The biggest thing I like over the C63 is the M-DCT transmission in the M3. It is awesome. I drove manuals for so many years but this thing is great.
So, right now I'm 53% M3 and 47% C63. They are both fantastic cars.

P.S. I asked that question to get an opinion of someone who switched from C63 to M3 as so far on forum everyone is oposite.

My c63 coupe is going under the knife on wed for these rattles, I'll keep everyone posted if it gets fixed.
Anyone else getting a rattle from the temp knobs?
