a tip for 2012 c63 owners
I came across this by chance, and once i learned how to perfect it, it became a daily ritual. A friend of mine has a 2011 P31, but doesn't get the same effect, so i though it probably was a feature only available to those with MCT transmission.
do the following on a straight open road (please have the sunroof tilted up)
1. shift up to 5th gear whilst keeping the revs at around 2k
2. plant your foot down without stepping on the button at the end of the accelerator
3. just as you reach 3k revs, lift your foot off the gas completely, then immediately after that ......... downshift !
my housemate has an R8 V10, and as much fun as that car is, and as loud as it is, it cannot be compared to the sound im trying to get you guys to re live ...
please update on whether or not you have come across this or were able to get it to work :P you wont be let down ! i promise !!

I wonder if you're talking about the sound us guys, with the pre-2012 models, hear when we are slowing down in 4th gear ( manual mode) and as the revs fall to 3k we quickly downshift to 3rd gear........music to my ears!!!

the sounds both of you are talking about are popping noises that are spectacular too ... but this ... this sounds like a whip .. i know it sounds weird but when you hear it you'll understand what i mean !!

I know exactly what you guys are talking about. I do this all the time, just to hear it.
