Asking someone to PM you a price on an almost 5yr old for sale item just demonstrates that you don't know how the internet or forums work at all. I mean, that's just retarded. I'm all for people replying to appropriate posts on subjects instead of creating new ones, but there have been hundreds of ROW threads and ROW box for sale threads since 2012. Surely people should be encouraged to reply to a more appropriate or recent thread, no?

Interested in this too. How much of a sound increase do the ROW airboxes provide?

Did you try searching. Because your EXACT question has been answered at least six hundred times.

Search: row, boxes, sound

Haha I'm not gonna lie, that picture had me cracking up. You're a funny guy!! Annoying as **** with the policing but funny enough to make it acceptable.

Seriously man, they're not that much louder. Barely noticeable both sound-wise and power-wise. It's OEM equipment, and safe as kittens. If you can afford them it should be one of your first mods. It's a no brainer.

Someone dyno'd with ohr regular air boxes vs row airboxes and there was zero difference. All the difference came from the different filters. Get afe or one of the other recommended ones and don't waste time and money on the row airboxes.

I'm on my phone so I don't feel like searching for the thread, but maybe someone else can link it.

I remember that thread but the guy tested old dirty filters with row boxes.

He should of done clean oem with row then pop in afe filters.

One person out of hundreds, probably thousands, had a problem with the ROW boxes (because of dirty filters), so now all of a sudden they're no good.

Just stop.

I wasn't saying he had a problem with the air boxes (correct me if I'm wrong though).

I said he used his stock air box and stock filter and dyno'd and the power was the same as when he used the row air box with the stock filter and got on the dyno. Then he dyno'd using the row air boxes and afe filter and that's where all the power gains came from.

So based on that, if you just put the afe filter in the normal air box, you'll be getting the same amount of power gains so the actual row air box is a waste of money.

No. That's just wrong.

Again, one guy out of thousands has had that result. And there are plenty of dyno results that say otherwise.

But you do what you want. Have fun.

It's really easy to modify the stock boxes to pretty much be a "row" box. I wouldn't and won't spend the money on them

Yea please do that. I want to read the thread about your car idle hunting and stumbling on acceleration after you destroy the velocity stack because you tried to modify it. I need a good laugh.

Your missing one detail.the comparison was old dirty filters to fresh clean filter.

The row box didn't pick up power because the bottleneck was the dirty old filters.

Oooh gotcha. I tried searching for the thread yesterday evening, but couldn't find it.

My car came with row airboxes so that's good news to me regardless.

A local guy said he can "make them for me". Does this just mean taking my current one and gutting it?

Please, for the love of God, stop asking if you should get ROW airboxes. This has been discussed AD NAUSEAM here and the consensus from any member who knows anything about this platform is that ROWs are one of the very first mods that should be done by anyone looking to increase power. When I joined this forum a couple years ago, I did some quick reading and immediately ordered ROWs because I noticed that there was one mod that all of the guys on here who are making significantly more power than stock have in common, AND IT IS ROW AIRBOXES!!!!

You own an AMG... pony up and get a set (of ROW airboxes, among other things)...

Thank you.

Thanks. If I just get the boxes, I'll need to use my current filters or get new filters too right? Do you know if the ROW boxes from oediscountparts will come with the MAF sensor?

You can either use OEM paper filters or you can choose an aftermarket option such as AFE, K&N, BMC, Pipercross, etc.

All ROW airboxes will come with new MAF sensors regardless of where you buy them.
