C63.... "Factory" Rubber Mats?
So, I like to keep the factory mats nice, particularly in a car like the C63...and I've always used rubber mats in my previous cars.....keeps the original factory carpets/mats in mint condition, & rubber mats are easy to clean...I mean, ya just take 'em out of the car, flick off the dust, & put 'em back in...no beating or "cleaning", & more importantly, no scuffing or any other damage, to your original equipment, & expensive, factory items.
So, when we ordered our C63, and before taking delivery, I asked the Dealer if he could supply a set of "Factory" C Class rubber mats.....which he did....and as they're the original M/B item.....they fit perfectly...and my original mats & carpet will always remain brand new!
So, If your C63's a keeper, & you want to keep your floor/mats etc as brand new, get yourself a set of the correct M/B rubber mats!
Of course, any rubber mats will do the job....and I've used "any" rubber mats before, but in something like the C63, I reckon the factory items are the go!
Cheers, Pickles.
I get my mats steam cleaned a few times a year, and they look as good as new. When they wear out after a few years, I buy new ones. They're not expensive.

I used to think like the OP but carpet mats look so much better. With more frequent cleaning, the OEM carpeted mats can be made to last a long time.
Of course, there are times when you DON'T want them there.....gonna show the car or whatever.....in which case you simply remove them, in the knowledge that your factory AMG mats have been protected, & will be "As New".

And to be perfectly honest, the only thing that looks nastier than dirty carpeted floor mats is....dirty rubber mats. Seriously, my winter car has rubber mats and they look WAY more dirty after just one weekend of rainy weather compared to the OEM carpet mats in my C63.

I don't store them....I simply place the rubber mats over the top...where they fit perfectly.....it's simply a way of protecting the original mats & carpet in "as new" condition.
For sure, you can simply remove your dirty, scuffed mats, & clean them....but they'll eventually become worn/scuffed or whatever.....by covering them with rubber mats, you're making the cleaning easier, & your original mats/carpets will always be "New".
