I'm running straight pipes right now resonator delete. Sounds pretty much like a c63, except at WOT it gets too flappy loud.
If you look at the 2 cars exhaust the main difference is in fact the resonator. The cl has a very large and heavy res compared to c. About 50% larger.

Next week installing a magnaflow 3" XPIPE as I've posted before to tone down wot flap. Very reasonable solution, but an ecu tune will magnify the result appreciably.

What?

My comment was not to make the CL sound like the c63. It was to make his exhaust note louder. If he literally wants it to sound like a c63 then it is obvious what he has to do.

Can Secondary Cats be removed, without getting a Trouble Code?

I don't agree with what you guys are saying above. I have a CL63 and tried everything besides putting a new exhaust on.

The best thing you could do, to make it sound louder and BETTER than a C63 is to replace the stock resonator by the CLK63 one. The car will sound AWESOME.

I will take a video today and post it, it's relatively cheap (<$500) and the results are outstanding!

Thanks to Mike for helping me out!

Ok well here is my experience.

Deleted resonator went with straight pipes. Too raspy at wot, but fun for a month.

Went to a 3" x pipe today and well it's much more refined but not the same blast.

I will stay with this. It's a much fuller sound just missing that muscle I had earlier. Hope this helps.
