My Premium package car Comand came with a single CD.

Does the Canadian premium supposed to have a single or 6 cd changer?

 

Nope, single CD only, no 6 CD changer anymore...

 

but you can record all your CDs onto the harddrive

 

I just use my iPod and sat radio.

If I recall correctly at least in the US for 2012, multimedia pkg (not premium) includes the changer, no? S32 COMAND launch pkg does not.

 

Up here, there is no multimedia package, it comes with our premium package and doesn't give us the option of a 6 disc CD changer.

Is there any size limitation to the SD card on the 2012 models? My wife's 2009 GL will only take up to 2gb SD cards.

Yes. Long enough to transfer the audio to the hard drive. Working on getting the vinyl collection in there.

SD card adapter: be careful what you buy. some adapters have the 2GB limit and others do not. I think the SanDisk 6-in-1 handles SDHC.

Yep. I had the SanDisk pcm-cia adapter for CF cards and ran a 16 gb card through it. Just a great way to get your music library in the car.

 

Treat your wife to a better adapter for her better vehicle.

Search the forum. Many have asked. Few have been successful. Apparently, if the file format on the card = the file format on the CD the answer is yes. Otherwise, not! It's a copyright protection thing.

In mid-2011 our dealer got a few GLKs with the Multimedia Package/changer. We ordered ours with the Multimedia Package & changer on Sept. 3, 2011. In October, 2011 M-B changed MM to S33/ single CD player. USA order.

I just or my MY12 last week (up to 580 mi on the break-in!) I looked at my order form. The 6 disc player didn't come with the optional multimedia Pkg, but was specifically added as an additional option. I think it was in the $400 range.

 

Her gl only has an sd slot so adapters won't help unless its a mini sd to sd adapter and i cant see how that would be any different I don't think it was designed for sd hc. Or am I missing something?

Just picked up my 2012 and a 16gb works fine.

 

Sorry. Thought you had the other slot. Must be a limitation in the hardware/firmware. Sorry for my confusion.
