c63 ordered..European Delivery! Here are the details...

Sharing this info with all of you in hopes to help others searching for the facts about C63s and Euro delivery. I found the worlds best MB sales guy who not only KNOWS THE PRODUCT but, also loves European Delivery.

Here is his site:
http://www.mbeuropeandelivery.com/

Car:
2013 delivery in Germany in Sept 2012.
Cuprite
Sand/ Back
Development
LSD
All options

MSRP was basically $80k

Euro delivery IS available for AMGs (dont believe otherwise).
Euro delivery gives a 7% discount.
Other discounts apply as well...loyalty etc.
So, all in the cost is in the low $70s.

Euro delivery is an amazing value. MB picks up a plane ticket. 5 day tour in your new MB is $1300...all first class hotels etc. Our total cost will be less than $3k for a week in Europe with our new c63.

What I learned:
1) 99% of the dealers know nothing about AMGs
2) Dealers dont want to order a AMG
3) If you order, they dont want to discount. The greats off MSRP I could get on an ordered car was $2k.
4) Dealers know NOTHING about Euro delivery.

Bottom line, contact Herbert: http://www.mbeuropeandelivery.com/

To make the experience even more pleasant, make sure to double check the date of your delivery. When my brother took Euro delivery of his C63 back in '08, he was given a date in June. When he showed up in Germany to pick up the car, he was reluctantly informed that he was given the wrong date and pick up wasn't scheduled until July. Even though the car was built, it was stored at another location and they couldn't get it prepped in time. Needless to say, he wasn't happy haha. They did give him a C350 to drive around, but as you can imagine he didn't fly out to Germany to drive a 350.

Also, none of those incentives were available for the C63 when it first came out. Even though Euro delivery is possible on any Mercedes (you just have to be persistent sometimes), the discounts usually only applied to cars in the "official" euro delivery program. I know AMGs do show up in the program once in awhile, usually the outgoing models from what I have seen.

congrats! you'll have a blast! I did it last summer with the C250 and I can't wait to do it again soon.

my dealer was pretty ignorant with the Euro Delivery details, but it all worked out in the end.

here's the link to my Euro Delivery thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-c...age-3-a-3.html

thanks for the link...cool pics.

I have to say, really amazing how knowledgable Herbert is about MBs and Euro delivery. So far, a brilliant experience. He is actually helping us with our travel plans and added excursions. Strongly encourage all of you to give him a ring...

Wow this great news. BUT - what about an E63 AMG wagon on Euro Delivery? Can it be done, didn't seem to be on your list?

Thanks

PS keep us informed about your trip.

What's involved with getting the car back to north America when the trip is done? How much help do you get from MB for this? Does it cost ~7% to ship it back?

check out Herberts site for all the Euro delivery details....

Bottom line:
7% less than MSRP. (good luck getting that % from any dealer on an ordered AMG)
All the usual discounts apply..loyalty etc.
The trip itself is an amazing deal. MB covers one of the tickets (cheap air is easily less than $1500). Next, a 5 night tour of Germany...high end hotels etc...for...$1300 TOTAL.

MB ships the car back at their expense. Lots of places around all of Europe to drop the car and MB does the rest.

Car arrives at your dealer..you take delivery.

This program is available for folks who LEASE (how crazy is that!). We are check writers and the way it works for us is that we show up at our dealer 2 weeks before it arrives and write the check.

Again, check out the site. In my mind...a TOTAL no brainer.

The challenge I had was all the dip sh*t sales people who knew nothing about Euro delivery and were too lazy to find out.

Herbert does nearly 50 Euro deliveries per year and is unquestionably the expert. Matter of fact...he is FROM this area of Germany and is going to add a few side trips for us. (yes, he is a MB sales guy AND a travel agent). I plan on taking the C63 to the Nurburgring...a tour of Porsche...you get the idea.

So gay Canadians get screwed again,

Up here I don't think we get that 7% on AMGs.. We have to put a 19% of MSRP deposit into trust for taxes, etc. Also can't lease or finance, car has to be bought outright.

I realllllyy want to do this.. This is on my bucket list.. Its a once in a life time kind of thing I think... What an experience.. I'd take a month to drive around Europe then drop it off in Nice, France to have it shipped home.

Interesting, I have talked to some "ED specialists" in the past and they always made me leave thinking all I could get was the 7%. Glad to see MBZ is more like how BMW is on their EDs.

Wow. First, thanks for sharing this info. I ordered my c63 coupe back in January and was entertaining the idea of something like this on my own.

Is this something I should inquire at the dealer with which I placed my order or should I contact Herb directly?

Thanks for the info. It looks like these guys can have the car delivered at any dealer, not just the dealr you order from. I need to seriously consider this since these guys seem to know this euro delvery stuff well.
I called my local dealer here in Mpls. and they told me I needed to order 6 months ahead of time to be safe. That seems a bit excessive to me.
