Found new cheap rear tires. wooo
400 Treadwear and only 180 bucks each.. Score.
Gonna order me a set for the rear...
I don't like running $500 tires that last 8 weeks on the rear.. They just get burned off so might as well run something cheap.
Did you notice that the tire is designed for sport utility vehicles. I get the budget conscious thing with how this car goes through tires but putting all season tires that are designed for SUV's on the car seems to defeat the entire purpose of a car like this. What about something like a Fuzion ZRi or the Kumho Ecsta SPT. They are budget options with 320 tread wear ratings but I would bet would provide better performance

How do u figure they are designed for an SUV with a 275/30/19??? Their website list them under passenger.
I'm not running laps at Nurburgring so these will do just fine.

- Tread designed for quiet ride, maximum performance for all sport utility vehicle applications.
I think you are reading off the wrong page.
Guys always complain about going through tires quick, but they are running a tire that is soft and designed for grip. They aren't going to last long at all.. I doubt most guys are even coming close to pushing the limits of their tires on the street so using a harder tire that's going to last longer is probably a good idea, no?
For the record I only use these on the rear.. The front I use a softer tire.. I'd rather have over steer, then under steer

Well that is wayyy better. I've been averaging 5-7000km per set of rears. If I could get 10k km that would be sweet.
Not sure y that red thumbs down is there... On phone, can't remove it.
If you want any kind of performance at all dont buy cheap. If you think you dont have traction now just wait till you throw on some cheapo tire. 4 weks max before you will be roasting them from light to light if you even mildly get on your car.
I have PS2's with 50% tread left on them and I cant even get on it without doing a smoke show. From a dig is a joke.
Full time drags is the way to go. Just dont bring it out in the rain.

I just don’t get it.
The car is known for eating tyres, it’s a part of owning it, if you can’t afford to change a set of good tyres regularly, it’s the wrong car for you.

I think the fact posted on here is 'drifting' by the OP. That chews up tires; regardless of make, etc. Its kind of like the saying: what motorcycle converts gas to noise more so than any other: HD.
The only difference is the 200 TW gets eaten up a lot quicker and is usually twice the price.
My pops is running a 400TW tire on both his 76 Trans Am and 69 Firebird. Both cars well over 500lbs tq at the wheel.. They aren't sliding all over the road with those on.. Same width 275 as well.
Here's a pic from last summers drift practices.. Id go once and a while to have some legal fun. That's the first big turn in the course, you're coming in at around 90-100km/h. Cones are setup off to the left of the picture.

So, to say that stickier (and quicker wearing) tires don't make a difference is wrong. Saying they don't make a difference for you because of the way you drive or for your needs is perfectly fine but better tires DO absolutely make a meaningful difference in traction, lap times, steering feel, etc. For beating around town (or drifting) then I completely agree that getting the best tire may be irrelevant. BUT... for track driving, aggressive back road driving, etc... better tires make a meaningful and very noticeable difference and for some is worth spending the money.

I agree with you

But if you look closely, I was talking about on the street in all my posts. Don't really need a Hoosier R6 to take the kids to day care do we?
