Mercedes does not sell parts of the newer differentials anymore. No listing. Sometimes you can cross reference older models that share the parts but I tried and I could not find any.
If you are looking for better gear ratios then it would be cheaper to buy a used diff anyways than buy a ring and pinion from Mercedes and install it. What are you looking for?

My crown teeth gap is not uniform (some teeth is thinner than others) so it makes humming noise. I want to change it with the same ratio (3.06). Slightly shorter or longer is also OK.
I read that 2004+ cars has different axle than pre 2004.
Where can I buy the used one?

I do not know how that would have happened. Did someone set it up wrong. In 14years working on Mercedes I have seen exactly zero differential failures that were not from either neglect or mostly technician mistakes in putting them back together. They leak but I have never seen wear or production mistakes. Not that it cannot happen.
I have never heard of 3.06 gears on one of these. 2.82 in the U.S. If you are looking for 3.06 then the best bet is just get a used Dodge rear end with 3.06 gears. I just bought one a week ago for 225.00. If it is for your E class then you will have to swap the gears into your housing.

Only people that I know that do these jobs are people that go to the dreagsters and change the gear set up for great acceleration and no top speed.

I printed off the specs for a 2012 C63 Sedan from MB Canada and the final drive ratio is listed as 3.06. Just checked same final gear for the coupe.Originally Posted by Pickles
