looking for rubber advice

I know there have been a ton of threads related to tires, ranging from daily driving to more performance related needs (track/drag). I will mainly be using my new ride (2012 c63 on OEM 19" multispokes) as a daily driver. Might end up at mosport or bowmanville once a season, at best.
I can see that the tire most recommended are the Michelin PSS's. Seems pretty steep to pay $300 per tire for simple daily use. Also been hearing positive feedback re the Conti DWS extreme contact all seasons.
What do you guys think is the best summer tires for my needs at a reasonable price? I'm from Toronto and my daily commute doesn't get too bumpy. I would prefer to have tires which will last approx 10-15k but would still offer a smooth feel. Any feedback would be appreciated as I am a complete novice re tires.

I just got a set for the rear at 180 per tire. Achilles ATR sport. Nexen 3000 are good too.

I have put on a couple of sets of Hankook Ventus V12 and think they are great for DD and cheap.

The PSS's are a great tire, there's no doubting that. The only reason I threw the Conti's into the conversation was becuz of my location (toronto, Canada). Summers tend to be a tad shorter and winters and lower temps tend to drag on (exception of this year). Will the conti all seasons give me better traction in the not so perfect Canadian seasons?

vredestein ultrac sessanta is another great tire worth considering...I've had a few sets of these tires on my other car and have been thoroughly impressed by their performance in dry/wet as well as durability.

Over the PSS's yes.

I'm in seattle, and went with the DWS's for the same reason you're thinking about 'em.

where are you guys getting your tires??? tirerack.com? other internet sites (besides 1010tires.com as previously mentioned in this thread)? would discount tire shops offer comparable rates to your name brand internet sites? i'm completely new to high end rubbers, so any advice would go a long way...

i recommend you purchase the PSS. you get what you pay for when it comes to tires for sure. they're the only think touching the ground in your car might as well get the best.

I highly HIGHLY recommend the PSS from Michelin...sick tire, amazing driving characteristics and truly confidence inspiring.
