Rubbing noise while turning?
Only happens when I first start the car (when the cars cold), noise goes away after 3-4mins, but it almost sounds like the tires rubbing (but they don't), can it be an issue with the powersteering pump making noises?
I have coil-overs BTW, but I don't think that's the issue

what tires you have on? The most unseen places for rubbing is on the back wheels brake lines. you can see it from under the car. I have now seen 2 c63's with severe shaving on the rear brake lines. both of them ran 285's. needles to say, that is a very very very bad place to be rubbing..

Do you park outside and is it damp there a lot now? Check for rust on your rotors. It takes a few minutes for the brakes to clean it off and will make a noise when turning because the rotor will flex just a bit from the centrifugal force of the tire turning and cause the rotor to rub on the brake pad.

I currently have 265's with 10mm spacers so I'm pretty sure the tires aren't rubbing on the brake lines (I had 275s but went down to 265 due to rubbing on the fenders).
The car is parked in my garage all the time, so that can't be the issue.
Probably just take it to the dealers and have them look at it.
Thanks for the input guys!

i've had the same damn problem for a while now, my car is about a year and a half old, it started on mine about 3-4 months in since the purchase, i took it to merc. twice, one time they found some leak in the power steering, replaced the fluids and part, and told me it'd be fine, still was there... like yourself when the car is cold only the first few minutes of the drive, then i went in for service a while ago, told them it's still going on, and they told me that it's the tires... because i run blizzaks on the wheels in the winter... i assured them that the noise was there before hand and was not fixed when i reported it first a while ago, they said they checked everything and could not find anything wrong... still a damn mystery to me
and... they said they heard it when i went for service, and the tech said it's the tire's thick treads on the ground.. please... lazy bums... hasn't showed any problems, and they can't see any damage, so it can't be anything too serious, just damn annoying

it's under the V portion of the engine cover. Cap has a dipstick with temperature specific PS fluid levels on it. Best to keep it close to the top of the fill line given the engine temperature (cold or operating temp)

I had an issue with my M3 where I would get a rubbing sound while making turns in my parking garage. It sounded like my tires were rubbing in the turn, however, it ended up being the rear differential. Just needed to replace the differential oil and it cleared it up the noise.

Does it happen while you are driving straight or while making turns? Do you have a rear differential?

thanks tampa, i will follow up on what you said, because it is during turning only and when it first turns on, may be a similar situation as you had on your M, and they've been checking the front wheel sections and steering since those turn, they probably haven't taken a look into the rear, thanks for the help

had a similar issue at startup, while backing up and turning to either side. Made a scrapping/catching type noise as if the tires were rubbing. It wasnt the tires. Took it in and MBZ said it was a bushing issue that there was a TSB out on it. replaced under warranty and seems resolved.
