Cancelled my Black Series order and going with the SLS AMG

Cancelled my Black Series order and going with the SLS AMG
Well after having a deposit on the new Black Series since July 2011 I have decided to bail on this car, for reasons that first I was promised an April 2012 delivery, then got bumped for May, and now this past monday I was advised that the car will not be delivered until end of June or early July!! This made me really angry as our summers here in Canada dont last very long and was heart broken. SO, my dealer found me an untitled, never owned 2011 SLS AMG, irridium silver with the red interior. This was a dream car so to speak and a car I had planned on owning one day. The Black Series for me was a stepping stone or a comprimise in a sense as I have two young children who are in car seats and thought it would be fun to bring them along once in a while. Well, looks like I am going solo
but seriously, I can still bring my 4 1/2 yr old in a booster seat in the SLS. I should have this car here at my dealer next week sometime and I will post pics soon after. For all of you who are waiting for the BS, I cant wait to hear your impressions as I did get to ride in one a few months back on a race track at an AMG Driving Academy event and this car is nothing short of astonishing!
but seriously, I can still bring my 4 1/2 yr old in a booster seat in the SLS. I should have this car here at my dealer next week sometime and I will post pics soon after. I drove SLS in Mont Tremblant and it was a monster! 260 down the back straight was effortless

Congrats Nick, u made the right decision.. I know for a long time how bad u wanted the SLS.. Happy to see ur dream is coming to reality! U've been working hard for it, so u deserve it! Be ready to turn heads.

Nice, this isn't the first time that Merc keeps delaying the date of C63BS. I don't understand why they can't just build it on time... Especially after paying such a price tag on the car.

Having the SLS for spring and summer in Canada is probably incentive enough to make this change. Add the fact that you are getting a rare and awesome super car is an extra bonus. Sorry to hear that you will not be part of the C63 BS immediate family. But since the BS's engine has some SLS pieces, you are staying in our extended family.
BTW, I expect you will hear your 4 1/2 year old say (as you pass other cars on the road), "daddy, why are the other cars stopped on the road?"

Thank you all for the kind words...there will always be a soft spot for the BS, so I will continue to be on this board all the time, you wont get rid of me that fast...as far as the allocation, soon as MB headquarters got wind of my decision to cancel and go with the SLS, they took back that allocation the next day, apparently the head of AMG Canada is honoring the waiting list that started back last year.
LangeOne, cant wait to see your BS, it should be very soon I understand.
Callmiro you are bang on, the SLS is something else on the road, it produces a sound and feeling that no other AMG does, there is a reason why it is the flagship on the MB brand.

You made a bad move in my opinion. I think the dealers got what they wanted from you. Dont get me wrong. I love the SLS more than any other AMG. but cancelling your BS order is not wise. It is a limited production. Therefore, you could ask for more than retail when it has arrived. It will go to any AMG enthusiast easily. you could have kept your deposit at the dealer and still purchased the SLS. Dealers usually dont return deposits made, but I guess with this kind of car, they would pay to return a deposit

Doubt it, your wrong, the dealer lost the allocation, they are not allowed to keep it if the person bails. They couldnt even swap my name with others, it had to go back to MB Canada and they decide who is next on the list. I am more than happy to give my allocation to another MB AMG fanatic like myself, I have done my good deed for the day

Dealers have to return the deposit, no question about it. The law is on the side of the consumer.
