Need everyone's thought on this issue with dealership
To make a long story short I signed a 24 month lease contract last week at the dealership for my c63 which should have also included mercedes maintenance service for $999 and they took my trade-in.
A week later the salesman calls me in somewhat of a panic and tells me they made a mistake on the lease contract and mercedes maintenance was not included as a line item on your contract. They realized this when they went to go hand in the contract to Mercedes financial. He also said their was a new person handling the contract that forgot to add the line item code
They want me to resign a new lease with the Maintenance plan included and nothing will change on my lease payment, residual, taxes at all. I was a little pissed at the salesman that how could they have forgotten this in contract? After pushing him how he could of F'ed up on contract he got defensive and said you can take back your trade in and we'll take back your c63. I then demanded to speak to the owner or a manager.
I then finally spoke to the manager there and they sent me over a copy of the new lease contract and nothing changed but a line item for maintenance plan. I also spoke to my attorney who advised me to only to sign if nothing changed.
I've heard nightmare scam stories of dealers calling back people after they signed a lease telling they can lower their monthly rate or their credit didn't go through.
The only issue here is that they have my trade-in and they are paying off my loan for my trade-in and giving me a check for my equity. So i still need this from them
Is it possible they f'ed up on the contract or their are other ulterior motives here?
thoughts?

When I bought my '09 my dealer messed up TWICE on the contract, calling me back in to re-sign. Nothing changed, payment never changed, dollars out of my pocket never changed, terms never changed...all legit. They just kept screwing up.

It sounds to me they are doing you a favor by making sure everything is squared away. Anyone makes mistakes and it looks like they are owning to what you are entitled. A contract is a contract so just make sure there is nothing different except the maintenance service added. And don't rely on the copy. Obviously you also miss this yourself when signing the first time, so just take your time and do it right.

Mistakes happen. I think people just have bad perceptions about dealerships and think everything they do is to F the customer over (well maybe not everything, but most).
But yeah, you're making it more complicated than it is, just look over the contract, make sure the sales price, payment, term, miles, residual, and total amount financed are all the same, and you're set

I had to go in twice to my dealer on my new ML. They make mistakes, it happens. I actually got them to reduce the payment because of the inconvenience and got a better deal. As far as I'm concerned it was a hidden blessing. Good Luck!

I did the same thing. OP should give it a whirl as well. Although I definitely wouldn't deal with the a-hole saying "well if you don't like it then come back in and take your trade back" - I would call his bluff in a heartbeat and tell him to get my car ready and he can have his back.

Dealers do make errors and have issues with their systems from time to time. Given every state has different laws as to lease contracts, it makes for a lot of confusion and leads to errors. Mercedes Benz Financial changes their lease contracts typically every 2 years as new laws come into effect and because of those new laws dealers will run into the issue of having incorrect figures on the lease contract......
Or you just had am incompetent finance manager...LOL

I agree, mistakes happen and no one's perfect. As someone said above, as long as all the line items are unchanged...except for the addition of the service program and the corresponding credit on another line, you are set.
