Hoosier or Mickey Thompson??
Which are better drag tires?..
Mickey Thompson ET street radials or Hooiser DOT drag radials??
They are pretty much identical, except the Hoosier is a 40 tread wear while the MT is a 0... Also the Hoosier is 6lbs lighter per tire.
Please advise guys, thanks.

Good article about DOT drag radials. They say the Hoosiers are meant for strictly track use. They are DOT approved but only because that is needed for a particular class in drag racing..
I am going with the Hoosiers.... They are 6lbs lighter which is a pretty big difference too.

I will say that when I first ran these at Pacific Raceways, they told me that in order to come back, I would have to get wheel studs/nuts. The tech inspector reasoned that these are basically slicks, essentially since there are only two tread lines on the tire, and that as such, I had to have the wheel studs and nuts. Not sure what your track will require, but I would get them anyway just for the added safety factor.

Ya I agree, I went with the Hooisers, which are the lighter ones... I've read they are pretty much a drag slick with a DOT stamp on them and no intended for use on the public roads at all..
Rims are on the way and tires should be soon. Track opens at the end of the month and we will see how they work.
