HAHA thank you autoblog for the honourable mention! and great write up. "http://ca.autoblog.com/2012/04/13/mercedes-benz-c63-amg-black-series-on-a-joyride-caught-on-video/"
As for the situation. Im glad I could help since I know the same thing happened to my car being the first 2012 on the lot and having them not tell me it arrived. I picked it up with over 50kms! Mbbarrie is awful -as you all know from my previous threads. Anyways, this dealer got caught and its nice to see them own up to the situation. I still believe though that the customer is owed big time (like VIP tickets to the Montreal GP as well as everything else) since I can guarantee he already told the dealer he didn't want it driven except lightly for the PDI. It was a sold vehicle and the techs had no right to drive it they way they did. I guess they feel that they are owed that opportunity for working there but the truth is they aren't. I hope MB Canada is watching/reading because they have a lot of work to do! If it wasn't for great cars I wouldn't buy **** from them. And for the owner, I wouldn't worry about it since the car is a beast (and I sure would't be giving it up). There is just something about it though thats going to stick with the car like finding out your girl was raped -its sick behaviour.

Dude, like your girl was raped? I understand youre trying to make a point, but it is no way like that. Its an AMG, they were built to take a heck of alot of abuse. I work for an MB dealer and we definitely do not treat cars like that, however, comparing it to rape is way extreme.

I am happy to hear that the dealer is directly confronting both the rouge employee(s) and an understandably upset buyer. Unfortunately, the most logical solution (i.e. ordering another car) is unavailable here. No other Canadian dealer (assuming a similar car is available) will trade, and no new BS's can be order. It is time for some imaginative solutions (maybe a free extended warranty and free maintenance would be in order).

Like others have said, you can't control your employees, and I applaud the dealership for owning up to the situation. At least they aren't trying to scuttle or play down what occurred and have been in contact with the owner to discuss what to do going forward. I would be pretty upset as I'm sure the owner ordered their BS well in advance and has been waiting for their car for quite a long time.
As for the other comment above, that's too much...way over the line IMO. As upset as I would be if this happened to my car, it's still just a car. Their behaviour is definitely not tolerable, it's fortunate they were stupid enough to film it and then post it on YouTube or this thread wouldn't exist. But it's still nowhere comparable to being, well you know.

I can attest Star Motors is a great establishment. I purchased 2 cars from them & they always treated me like VIP. When I had my CEL the day I bought my car, they took care of it as soon as I drove it back.. No waiting in line or crazy long appointment. I believe this incident will be handled properly by them.
Let's face it.. These kind of joyride are common daily for high performance car (sadly).. It just happened w/o us knowing them.

I wouldn't want them to be fired. I would still take the car and ask for a 10k mile service to call it even.
Heavy reprimand yes, but it's people just being people and having fun in something they will probably never own. I really don't think it's criminal. The only thing they are guilty of is not knowing how to shift. Mercedes driving school should be required.

The car might be OK from technical point of view, but judging by the total ignorance displayed by these... "test drivers", I wonder what else they might have done to the car... Perhaps something not easily visible, something related to bodily fluids

Everyone is acting as if they took it out and totaled the car
If it was some F1 driver(Hamilton) visiting and took it for a joyride everyone would be happy and proud.
How is this thread any different from this:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...pressions.html
This guy got a REAL joyride!
Yet because they got it on video it's a big deal...This car wasn't even delivered yet..It's not like the owner dropped it for service and this happened during service.
Every one of your C63's were beat up per-delivery..

Different people treat their possessions differently, and there's nothing wrong with that. For example, I like my cars being clean and I was extremely disappointed after one of our (non-Mercedes) cars was returned from the dealer's "scheduled maintenance" with dirt spots on many interior parts (naturally, I have no incentive to ever return to that dealer, especially for new lease/purchase), even though the car was mechanically perfect. Some people don't care about it and sometimes turn their rear car seat into one big "garbage bin" and don't mind all kind of crap (used pizza boxes/cigarette "butts"/metal cans/used condoms/used diapers) slowly collecting there until it makes the rear window disappear Again, nothing is wrong (or amusing) in both of these cases, just different people treating their stuff (and themselves) differently

It's still wrong for an employee to thrash YOUR car before you take delivery of it. I'm sure if any problems pop up, the owner will come back and blame the dealer. I would reject the car and buy the new 991 911.

I don't even let the dealers touch my car. I took it home unwashed and covered in plastic. Then proceeded to give it a full detail. No swirls for me. I would go ape **** if that was my BS its a exotic to me.
