Placed order for C63 in Feb for May delivery, dealers says MB changed it to 2013 ??
I need some advice for my sister. She ordered a C63 Coupe in February with the understanding she should have the car in May.
She even made a change 'just in time' per the dealer omn one of the options.
Anyway she gets a call this past weekend that the dealer said that Mercedes Benz told them the car cannot be a 2012, it needs to be a 2013 and she can have it for a July Build.
I never pre-ordered a Mercedes let alone an AMG as I usually get a car in stock so I don't know how they work but I have ordered BMW's and I just recently picked up a pre-ordered Porsche 991 so I understand the process ...
The dealer gets an allocation, you place your order to fill the allocation, there is a certain time frame the order can be changed before it's locked in and then you get the car about 1 month from the production completed date.
Is AMG like this also ? Is it possible the dealer placed an order on an allocation and lost the allocation from MB ?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am in a similar situation. I placed my order in Nov 2011 and didn't get an actual build date till 3rd decade in March and my car is suppose to be completed this week. The dealer told me one thing, but what they told me was all false. You should go to the dealer and look at their computer screen in the NetStar application. From my experience, MB is more honest than the dealer.

Sounds strange
I ordered a C63 Coupe in February and was just notified that it went into production 2 days ago. I also received the VIN number. Maybe someone made them an offer and they decided to sell the one they ordered for her?

I also ordered a 2012 sedan and my car turned into a 2013. My build date is 2nd decade of june. I ordered it late Feb, but my dealer sent me a copy of MB letter saying its in the 2013 ordering bank now. I think we were close to the cut off line for 2012 so they changed it to 2013. Its only a month of extra waiting and get a higher resale value for the 2013 car. Im fine with it as long as i get it in july.

Our dealer made it clear they had an allocation and placed the order which leads me to believe the dealer made an error somewhere.

this is worrying me, I ordered my car First week of March, and was told car would arrive end of May. Our car season is really short here and I would be pissed if I missed 2 months of summer
I'll go buy a porsche instead if so

I ordered mine in late Jan and they told me it's gonna be built within this month. Last time I was at the dealer they told me it might be delayed... My expected delivery date is 30th of June. This is kinda worrying me too.

If you really want a car soon, why don't you just grab the existing inventory they have on the lots.....and you can get a deep discount knowing the 13's are coming
just sayin....

I wasnt sure the dealer had an allocation, but I was told usually take 60-90 day to get the car. I just wanted it in the summer thats all, but now im wishing I can get it sooner. You should be fine, MB could have changed yours to 2013 bc they start production in June and there is a month delay between 2012 models and 2013 models.

The only problem with the existing cars is they are not the colors I want. My dealer checked out every car in the U.S to see if they had one that matched my preference. Since there were none, I decided to order it. Diamond White with red/black leather.

I have a strong feeling I will go through the same thing, my first reaction would be to cancel and move on if so. However I have decided losing 2 months of summer won't matter. If anything I'm making more money in the meantime and can pay off the car easier. It's just so hard, ever since I ordered the car I'm now noticing more c63's. And Canada has hardly any coupes with performance package available.
