M156 head bolt problems
The early cam lobes are made of a softer material than the buckets and the cams wear the entire time the engine is tapping. The fix is to replace the M156 valve buckets with the M159 (SLS) buckets. Do the post-2011 engines have this fix?
It seems all the warranty work was done through MB but has anyone had it done through a 3rd party warranty company?
I'm looking at a 2007 E63 with around 55k miles. I'd definitely buy an extended warranty of some type but I'd like to know if something like this issue would be covered if the worst happens.
Thanks in advance.

I can see, as bhamg has, that availability of failed bolts will slow this study . In my case I am requesting quotes, and based upon potential tests the labs may need several. Sniff 'em out and send 'em please.
