C'mon man... How much love have I shown your car over its life? You should know where I'm coming from better than that.

Josh and Drew, congrats to both of you for pushing the envelopes with your respective cars. I would like to hear each of your's perspective regarding the practicality of going the supercharger route for a car that is road course focused rather than drag strip.

Is the power delivery linear like normally aspirated?

In a moderate boost situation, will cooling be an issue? Consider that Florida summers factor into this question. I am very leery about having to add a tank of ice water in the trunk.

Thanks! The car is very docile and unassuming until you mash it, then all hell breaks loose. It's mostly linear. The power delivery does ramp up as you get the pedal near the floor, but it's not abrupt, and it is predictable. I love driving it in the canyons, which is much closer to a road course, and it's great. It's not hard to smoothly ramp into the power after an apex, and with the carbon hood, it feels like the weight is pretty much a wash.

Regarding cooling, I am installing the ice chest just to be cautious. Lots of extra power means lots of extra heat to dissipate, no matter how you slice it. That's why I went with the vented hood right away. I drive my car pretty hard most of the time I'm in it, and I don't want to risk popping anything, even a hose.

What makes you leery of the trunk tank? It's a pretty cool install. There's a drain that goes straight down through a grommet hole in the floor, and there's two grommetted (sp?) holes in the front wall of the spare well for the running lines. And having a little extra weight in the trunk can't help but balance the car better and improve traction. Fock, I usually drive around with a bowling ball back there anyway...

Both cars are very nice. Question why did the BMW motor have 10.1 compression ratio? I would have though to lower it to around 8.5 compression ratio.

Sweet video!!!!

Great job guys!! My hats off to you both for your competition and pure enjoyment of the cars. I know we have all been back and forth since N/A was the thing to do. Now with FI its gotten more serious and more fun and thats what its all about!!

Drew, WOW!! No matter what that was a great run!!

Josh, get some better tires and lose some weight to make it more even.

Even though Drew has the upper hand on the HP I know there may be more in the Weistec system.

Ya'll be safe on the streets!! Wish you were closer so I could join you but the 2500 mile distance makes that difficult.

Anyway, I love both cars and I truly respect what you both have accomplished!!
Once again, great job and be safe!!

Are there any Stage 3's on the west coast? They should attend the next Shift-S3ctor sbs racing event, we can run there.

Hey Drew,
I'm not sure when the next event is but I'm gonna try to make it out. Run it N/A and see what we can get. Then maybe spray our way to 200 IF we can. She went 181 over two years ago so I think with the latest upgrades etc... she should go mid 180's or better N/A. Don't have any idea what spray will do.

You have any idea what yours will do in the mile??

Drew how badly did you beat Gregory in the CLS at the last shiftsector thing? Or did you not race him?

Hey V, I did not make it to the last event, the transmission was down. Greg's Tuned CLS is about even with a stock 458. He just picked up a MP4-12C, and I"ll be running that for sure.

I would like to take my car, and it would be great to meet you. I think your car will do very well as it always does.

Add in a supercharger, custom fuel system, rims, etc... How can you even debate that!? LOL.

Josh
Frankenstein is actually the doctor guy that made the monster. It's Frankenstein's monster if anything.

I just learned about that not long ago (as it was also pointed out to me by some jerkoff, haha) but I thought it was interesting and thought i'd pass it along.

Great runs guys, both very strong cars and definitely not ones I'd want pulling up next to me on the highway.

I ran Greg's tuned CLS at the last airstrip event and only lost by a couple cars. Josh, your Weistec car should easily take him, however from what I've heard about the new McLarens, that will be a very interesting matchup.

Looking forward to getting out to Willow with all the big boys.

Not exactly a fair race. Fully built M3 vs stock C63 with a bolt on blower.

There's a video somewhere of a piped and tuned n/a C63 walking an M3 with a Gintani blower.

it's like; lets line up a UR Stage 3 Gallardo with a tune only GTR... yeah, that'll be fair.

I'd like to see someone do a decent TT kit for the M156. Now THAT would be a monster.
