Fung63's C63
Some of you may already know I picked up a MY2010 Obsidian Black on Black C63 and it has been pretty awesome.
Vision
My vision for the C63 is for the vehicle to be like sleeper but there will be some mods to it that picks it out of a crowd if you know what you are looking at. In my opinion, the C63 is beautiful in pretty much every single angle and I'm anxious to do some work on it to enchance it even more. The more I drive it, the more I like how 95% of the population have no clue what this car is capable of. They see a normal C class and that is just dandy with me.
Use
The C63 will be my DD. It'll be the car I use for absolutely everything. It'll be my companion each day as my commute is 1.2hrs each way and also my weekend warrior. As with my previous cars, I will baby it as much as anyone (weekly hand baths, buy it nice toys etc) but i'll also be using it without fear of it getting scratches or high mileage. Like the knights of old and their trusted steed, the C63 shall be mine for the forseeable future. I shall learn what it is fully capable of and work to improve it.
This thread will serve as a blog of my adventure with the C63. Be it mods or random pics / stories.
ok so introducing my little C63
Here is a picture of the C63 with my wife's GLK
Over the weekend I swapped out the side marker lights (which my wife called them pimples )
It was a farily straight forward DIY project. Was my first time and with learning curve + messing up a bit, it took me about 30 minutes to do both. I would give this mod a 10/10. It is easy, and has high impact on the looks of your car. Plus its cost effective too lol

haha yes, it was sealed last year. Will probably do it again this year. I also like the wet look as well and it does protect the interlock + stop weeds from growing. Can't stand the look of an interlock driveway overrun with weeds lol
Thanks Roswell,
I have a few things that is otw to my house. I typically do the cosmetic things first, so once I put them in I'll snap a few pics CF trunk spoiler and diffuser to name a couple
As for the license plate, yes I am asian lol... guessing the 88 gave it away? haha
thanks!

Shift knob replacement
The oem shift knob is nice but I always felt that it could use more heft. So I looked at many possible replacements
on the formymercedes.com site I found a pretty bird's eye maple shift knob that fit exactly what I was looking for. A couple of quick emails to Jerry got the order done. He is really quick with his emails and a pretty easy vendor to deal with.
So I got the shift knob installed today.
a before picture - our familiar oem knob
and then an after
I would give this shift knob a 8.5/10. The finish is about 90% close to the actual oem trim. but there is some minor manufacturing flaws along the edge where the metal piece meets the knob. The circular ring could've also been a bit more streamlined. Sticks out too much atm imo.
However, after a Home Depot run, I can say the knob feels great and it is definitely a decent value.

Are those the smoked side markers? Where did you end up buying from? It looks great!
I have the same car and was thinking about doing that mod along with changing all the lighting out so the fogs are closer to my xenon and eyebrow color.

Mode Carbon - Diffuser
The oem diffuser was one of the things that I thought was lacking on the C63. For such an aggressive looking vehicle, the diffuser was a step behind.
With that said, I searched the forum and online world for a replacement.
My requirements was that it had to be CF and of course be more aggressive than the oem without going overboard. Has to align with my vision for the car.
Mode Carbon is a new vendor here and the timing couldn't be any better. Nicholas is their MB sales rep and he is very responsive to emails. We exchanged a few messages and I quickly placed an order for their trunk spoiler and diffuser.
When I received both, I noticed that the spoiler had a small blemish. I quickly reached out to Nicholas and he without a hesitation offered to send me a replacement as well as pay for return shipping on the spoiler I have. As a owner of a company myself, I understand that stuff happens. However, it takes a good company to know how to remedy this favourbly. From this experience, I can say that Mode Carbon does work hard to ensure its customers are satisfied.
Although I am waiting on my new spoiler, I decided to put the diffuser on. Off to my friend's shop I went.
First off, the diffuser quality is very nice. The CF weave is pretty consistent throughout. There are pre-drilled holes, tabs everything to make installation straight forward. As of the time of my writing, I've been approached by several forum members regarding Mode Carbon and my impression the product. I believe pictures would serve this purpose better so I will upload a fair amount so you can see for yourself.
Diffuser unpacked - btw wrapping was very good. It shipped from Miami to Toronto

Installed pics
Here is a closeup so you guys can see fitment.
This weekend has been a total bust due to rain so I apologize for the car being a bit dirty lol. As you can see from the pics, the fitment is very very good. It was my number 1 concern when I emailed Nicholas and I am happy to report that my friend had no problems installing it.
Over-all impression of the diffuser is that I really like it. It is a very good value mod. Priced very competitively and quality is there. Mode Carbon has been easy to deal with. I would give this mod a 9.5/10. A diffuser upgrade really is something everyone should do. Looks great and its like half the weight if not less than the oem.
Stay tuned for the spoiler when I install it

I went with this vendor here on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/260987765871...84.m1439.l2649
The side markers are actually not smoked. Why it looks black is due the black housing. It was a toss up between smoked vs black housing for me and I felt that this would give off a cleaner look to the car.

Is the CF diffuser a full replacement? I bought one off ebay and regret that it had to be attached on top of the stocker. I still installed it though. lol
but I like your diffuser better still.

I don't think u can reuse the OEM bracket. I only used bolt & washers to secure mine.
