Opened it up and did the initial update that was forced when plugging it in the PC (said something like "mandatory update" and you had to click ok). That went alright, except it did say one file "could not be updated". After the device rebooted, I could then click the normal Update button, so I did just for the heck of it. Couldn't tell if anything was updated "more", but figured it couldn't hurt.
Took the unit to the car and tried following the PDF instructions (link that was sent in the email). I'd say roughly 75% of the menu screens in the initial download process didn't match the examples in the instructions exactly, which made things a bit confusing. Some was minor wording, but some were just plan different screens/steps. I more or less tried just following the device screens and turning the dashboard on and off a bunch of times, as instructed. Related side note - I was a bit confused when it said "turn on the dashboard"...with keyless-go, is that one press of the ignition button, or two? I used one press. Ended up at the home screen where there was no longer any "ID" option (just "Work", "Reset", "Setup", and "Info", so I figured something had to have happened.
Took the unit to the PC and clicked Download, and it saved a tiny little MyGFile.pfp file out there. It was only like 7kb I think. Clicked the Info button in the software and it showed my VIN...more signs that something might have worked with the intial pairing.

I guess I'll figure out if the file I sent EC is good when they get back to me. Doubt I'll have it tested tonight. Heading out in an hour and no files sent back yet.

I'm having problems with getting it to read my ecu
The instructions deviate from the screens I am getting starting at pane #8 and I receive this screen. Nothing matches the instructions after that. I still got a MYGFile.fpf which I sent along... the VIN is showing in the device visualization once I plug it back into my PC.

haha same. maybe one of the firmware updates have changed the process. i took a video for youtube but its too big to email and I forgot my cable at work. i can upload it tomorrow
i have keyless go and just removed the button to follow the key position # 2 guidance.. pretty sure #2 is the same as 1 keyless go button push after playing with it

Have any of the Canadian orders been taken care of? As I understand it, the units first have to cross the border to Eurocharged Canada before they start going out to those who placed their order with them.

It looks like the user guide is for several versions ago too and nothing matched.
I had to turn on/off the dashboard several times before it finally had the option for Writing. Still I clicked that and got the error message that the device wasn't set up to perform the function so I figured I was done for now.
They really should update their user guide so we don't have to sit there and guess what to press.

Jerry is still on vacation until monday so we are trying as best as possible to get to everything as soon as we possibly can!
Some of the canadian orders have shipped the others will tomorrow. Yes, they are going to ec canada to be shipped out for ease of customs delivery as well as taxes coming in.

It looks like the user guide is for several versions ago too and nothing matched.
I had to turn on/off the dashboard several times before it finally had the option for Writing. Still I clicked that and got the error message that the device wasn't set up to perform the function so I figured I was done for now.
They really should update their user guide so we don't have to sit there and guess what to press.

A real shame the directions looked nothing like the actual steps. That should have been all ironed out.
I'm sure they'll take care of our issues.

I just feel the other posters' frustration, as we were all asked for this info and it seemed to not help anything, and it also seems odd to launch a product when vacation is planned. Everyone deserves time off for sure, but the timing of launch could maybe have been better.
