Both, front grill ,side and back emblems are plastic dip.
Roof and window trim are vinyl.
Think the side emblem in black does not stand out.
Might want to restore it, any thoughts?

Car is not really done yet, the front have some floss.
Also the roof molding paint came off
we overlap the molding to tuck in the vinyl and when peel off if have some white coloring.
Will post picture on it soon.
Would warranty cover it?

This vinyl guy was telling me it had to be all vinyl as the plasti-dip wouldn't match the vinyl parts.. probably just trying to make more $$ Did you have to take out the grill to do it?

Plasti-dip works great on emblems. You just take your time peeling it off to get a sharp edge. As for as trim and grill, wrap is a much better option. I took the grill out to have it wrapped (takes about 15 minutes) but you still have to bring your car to get them to wrap the upper grill molding attached to the hood. The window trim is a total dyi. The upper window molding just pops off. The lower window molding lifts up after you pop off the little plastic endcaps (which usually break but you can glue gun them back in place). After you get the lower molding off you can seperate the rubber weather proof strip to you can get the wrap all the way around. Make sure you use the hard plastic body/trim tools. On the front doors you have to unscrew the sideview mirrors (also very easy). Total cost $130 ($100 for a shop to do the grill and $30 for 3M body tape for the DYI window trim. I prefer all the emblems be in black including the side ones. Makes things very stealth.

Thanks! I know this sounds terrible but I don't really have the tools or know-how to even do that.. heck I couldn't even get the plastic over the air-filters to put in my K&N's...

Vinyl guy was telling me the same - that wrap is best for grill. The guy quoted $600 for window trim and grill.. Didn't sound right to me.. Sounds like a Mercedes price..

That price is outrageous. Sound like a combination of the LA and MBZ tax. The guys at San Diego Wraps quoted me $250.00 to do the grill and the window trim. There is a guy on the board that's in OC (closer to you) that is much more reasonable. I forget his name but do a search and you'll find him. He also blacks out tail lights.

The whole job is under $400
Not worth the time or trouble to DIY.

His name is Don Nuygen
Great job but his does not do front grill or deal with plastic dip, only vinyl.
