Ran The 1/4 Mile Tonight

60' 1.829

MPH 92.55
1000 10.043
Was running normal PSI (42 lbs) in the rear.
Btw, for those of you curious about the 2012's performance in the 1/4 with racestart, this was a racestart run. It's amazing how accurate the system is from a 60' perspective...is always between 1.829 and 1.859 ish.
Cheers!

Very good time, especially with your tire setup. That's a lot of PSI and still, you achieved very respectable 60'. Good job!
What were the weather conditions and elevation (temp, humidity, DA)? Very curious.

I think launching your car would be the biggest challenge depending on your choice of tires. But, you definitely wouldn't embarrass yourself. With good gas in the tank and after a handful of runs your car would start showing a pretty good trap depending on weather/DA.

@ OP, good run, and sorry for hijacking your thread!

I don't have good tires for now, I mean they're brand new but the dealer gave them to me for free when I got the car. I bet that they're the cheapest one on the market! I'm getting Michelin PSS in 1 or 2 months when it's time to change these ones. But yeah no problem for the gas.

thats pretty good for race start. is it difficult to get the timing of it right?on my cls i think is has like 2 seconds to confirm, or something and then 5 seconds to start...
so you probably have to time it just right...?

You should def run your CL at the track...I'm sure you would put down a respectable 12 sec run with a decent launch.

Just have to wait about 1-2 sec's to activate race start once both cars are at the ready line, and be sure that you don't time out the rev's. (system de-activates itself after 7 seconds)
I initially thought that it would be challenging, but you just have to practice enabling the system and you will be good to go!

If I scrub the tires well enough, no...especially when the track prep is still good.
If I roll out and run through a little patch of water, yes.
Once a good amount of cars hit the strip, then the system isn't as effective because of all the "marbles" left behind by cars running crappy tires.

Am very pleased - now I just have to weigh the benefit of spending another $1,000 on rear rims and drag radials to bring down my time by 2/10's of a second.
My inclination is to not do it unless I get headers, which probably won't happen.
Very happy the way it is.
Knocking off time now is really a question of horsepower which I can't improve unless I move to a forced induction system, and I certainly am not at a point where I could comfortably drop 15-20G's on it.
