Cars are built to be driven and almost all cars you are dumping money down the drain. Actually I can't think of a single new car that can be bought and is not dumping money down the drain, especially if you buy it and actually use it.

What amazes me is how quickly most AMGs deminish in value. The C63 is the only one I have looked at that actually does not seem to drop so quickly. Never quite figured that one out but I have looked at a number of used ones that were priced so high that it made the idea of ordering one built how I'd want it extremely appealing.

Cool story, but try going thru a chicago winter with your C63 and you'll see why a 4matic is a must. That was the best thing for me to do, I didn't ask or tell anyone else what to do with theirs, so you can do whatever the f it is that you desire with yours

My last job had me averaging 25k-30k miles and I fully expect to maintain that split between my bike and my car. If I was truly concerned about mpgs, I'd ride my bike full-time or I would've picked up a TDI/hybrid.

Even though your mods are tastefully done and look good in my opinion I'd still say it's a poser car. Although not nearly as bad as the IS250 I saw the other day that had the IS-F quad exhaust rear bumper. Looked ridiculous.

well even the exhaust on an IS F screams poser LOL

i'm thinking of doing the reverse .... i'm going to slap some c250 badges on the car and convert to a single tip .... then tell people I have a 4cyl with a straight pipe .... should workout nicely when i pull on a civic ...

i was leaving tysons this afternoon and saw an IS250 with the "quad exhaust"...might have been the same exact one you're talking about

Ps. I had a C250 loaner when my car was in for service on Monday. I had just been out driving the AMG hard with the shop foreman before they threw me in the loaner and off to work I went. Let me just tell you first hand that car was gutless. The two cars were worlds apart! I remember it taking about 10 seconds to get up to speed on the hwy... I couldnt live with that!
Oh and I forgot to say that my coworkers couldnt tell the difference though. One of them asked why I had put a big vinyl sticker with the dealers info on the back window of "my" car. I told them it was a loaner. The only people these "Posers" are fooling are car enthusiats. The general public cant tell the difference. Frankly it pisses off car enthusiasts becuase they are thinking they are tricking the general public but in reality those people have no clue!

if I wanted to let people know what I drove, I'd get something no one could mistaken for a more affordable version ... don't forget C63 are just a performance version of a C-class... unlike say an SLS which is basically purposely built. M3,335,328 most people wont see the difference. S4,A4 again most people won't be able to tell. Actually I think MB is the worst one of all ... heck you can get a c350 Sport that, let's be honest, look not a whole lot different than a c63. It has the defuser, the front bumper isn't really different, it has dual exhaust ... not 4 tips but still 2 exit locations. Add the "AMG package rims" and voila .... baby c63
I think wrecking people and leaving them baffled about what just happens just makes my day! The other side of it is ... driving past a cop and him not specifically locking onto me ... as long as i coast in neutral when i go by LOL

2009 C63 AMG
This might be a little off topic...but I noticed someone put up a thread selling Black Series trim for 'ordinary' C63s. Now, is the buyer not a 'poser' because they are not putting the Black Series badge on or are they a poser because everything else on the car looks like a Black Series except for the badge?
I guess I'm asking, what makes a 'poser?' if someone slaps a quad exhaust, change the hood on a C300 but doesn't put the AMG badge, are they ok? If someone doesn't add any trims but simply slaps an AMG badge, is that not ok?
It seems everyone has a different definition of what they think is a 'poser.' Not sure who's right or wrong or if it's simply personal preference.
