C300 AMG??
I think this guy had the AMG package wheels or something, so he felt it was appropriate to put the badge on his car. Who knows... but it sounds like the guy you encountered is a definite wannabe. The 6.3 badges are just calling for unjusitfied attention.
How true, lol!
I just remembered that I am accidentally in this group of posers right now too.. I bought my car and realized the previous owner put a "Black Series" badge on my car. One of the first things I said was "That's gotta go!" but I still haven't gotten around to taking it off, and I keep forgetting it's there.

This might explain it, but no reference to an AMG badge

Why didn't you keep it, big step down to a 300...
Anyways I am done, just thought it was funny that quad tips was bashing badge changers.
for me, a poser is trying to disguise his/her car to be something better than it really is.

I feel like there is a fine line of where it becomes "poser" vs. just appreciating a different look than the stock car.
In this case, I feel like if he were to add "AMG", "C63" or "6.3" to the car, it would most defintely be a poser move. Otherwise, I think he just appreciates the look of different "OEM" parts on his car.
VW guys do it all the time, using Audi/Porsche/Lambo wheels. It's the idea of sticking with OEM parts to make it different, but making improvements over stock.
I put a number of Cobra parts on my Mustang (interior, wheels, brakes) but I still proudly display the stock V6 badges on the car as that's what it is (OK so it has a built 400rwhp V6, but still...)
Since we've had the C63 my wife now seems to notice AMG badges a lot more, and I kept explaining to her that AMG cars have only 2 digits in their designation for the most part OK, (so the SLS is different) The other day we say an E500 (iirc) with the AMG badges and she blurts out "hey, that guys full of shiite, right!!??)
Anyways - putting the 6.3 badges on a C300 is just full on, total BS, douchebag poseur imho.

And I got rid of it cause my daily commute changed from 5k miles a year to 25-30k that would be just dumping money down the drain if I were to put that kind of milage on a C63.

Also, don't some foreign countries badge AMG if you get tires or certain trims?
Not sure if it's the dealer or MB of that country though.
