Man, there are a ton of AMGs in SoCal.
Between the drive to SD last night and visiting Universal today, I've seen more AMGs than I do up north in a month.

There may be more than other states but it's not a ton like M3's. What's bothering is I see more fake AMGs than the real ones around. Go figure!

I'm pretty sure these were real. The C63s had the front gills and quad exhaust (they certainly sounded the part), the others looked the part from what I could tell.

There are quite a few out here in L.A. but I see alot more M3's then AMG's.
On a side note, I spotted 2 Ferrari 458's in a matter of 2 days (Black and yellow) such a bada55 car.

I was at a dealer once looking at a C63 and overheard the sales guy said to another buyer "if you buy this C350 Sport, I will give you a "AMG" AND "C63" badge and no one can tell the difference, that's like a $30K value!!!"

And yes, AMG's are pretty scarce up here. Way too many M's, not enough AMG's.

Very true! Wonder why there are so many M3's in the bay area and not too many C63's! the day i got my car, my female co-worker, who doesn't know too much abt cars, commented "is'nt mercedes for older people really?" lol...but somewhere there's truth in her statement...audi and Bmw have caught on as the yuppie brands.

well, its so funny to see people react the way they do when i start my car. most of the ppl dont know a **** about cars and a 'C' class is supposed to be all quiet, smooth, luxurious and elegant and u shatter all the expectations by firing up the 63..lol...is that sound coming from 'that' car?? is what i get! i get annoyed a wee bit when i am asked for a ride in my 'C' class!

Yea there are definitely a LOT of AMGs in SoCal especially if you drive through any of the areas like rancho santa fe, del mar, solana beach, or beverly hills.
When my friend bought his CLK 350, the salesman offered to rebadge the car anyway he wanted even with the AMG badge because the previous owner had debadged it.

SLK55, S65
Yeah, I came from So Cal (worked in Irvine until 2001) and there are many AMGs there. Been hunting for a SLK55 and trying to get it turbo charged. Few weeks ago at whole foods in Laguna Beach I asked a cougar to see if she wants to sell her SLK55, she just looked me up and down then drove off!

Speaking of 458 Italia's, I just saw one on the way back from La Jolla. And on the way TO La Jolla, I an S63 zipped by me at a good clip (for a 2-lane road).
