This might have been covered before but did not find anything relevant. I was wondering if it is worthwhile to fill gas at costco due to cheaper prices and proximity to my house? I have heard stories that costo gas i.e warehouse gas is not as good in quality and hence i fill up only at shell or chevron in california.

Chevron or Shell only, if I can help it. I was recently visitin SD and was trying to find a reputable gas station in Escondido...doesn't exist. The best I could do was a mom & pop station...<cringe>.
I have heard, however, that Safeway may use Chevron as a gas supplier. My buddy saw the Chevron truck go from a normal gas station to the Safeway where he regularly fills up. I'd check on that, though.

Shell/Chevron, I hear they're basically the same thing. One markets a nitrogen additive, the other markets Techron, which may be the same thing. All I know is that no other gasoline companies in CA have any system cleaner. And I figure it's (relatively) cheap insurance on cars like these.

Not surprised with the answers! shell or chevron seems like a 'safe' choice. i wish we could get 93+ octane fuel in california although i have heard that a 76 gas pump serves 93 octane in south san jose.

Yeah, I think Sunol has one off the 680 as well. I think you can actually get any octane you want, but it might be useless to get 95+ unless you're going to dyno or track it.

Wherever my gas buddy app tells me the cheapest 91 is!
When I ran my Evo on gas we loved 76 because it had more resistance to detonation at higher boost levels.
Actually not true. The reason is because so much premium fuel is consumed in CA they need to blend lower octane to increase supply.
What about ethanol? Ethanol is excellent stuff. I wish I could tune this car myself and install larger injectors/FP I'd run on E85 all day long. I ran my Evo for 80,000 miles on that corn juice, I miss it!
