C63 AMG (W204) 2008 - 2015

Engine dies after 5 days from delivery!

Engine dies after 5 days from delivery!

Hi all, I'm new to this forum!

What a bummer, I just picked up my 2013 C63 on Tuesday and today the engine died on me 50 meters from the house. Last night it was running perfect, today engine light came on right when i pulled out of my garage and it just started "choking". Word from MB is that the car threw out a "bunch of codes" and now head office needs get involved and analyze the codes.

Here we go! With my luck I got a lemon!

Did this happen to anyone?

Huge disappointment! Not only did I wait forever (at least felt like forever - 6 weeks) but 5 days after, it breaks down! I went from a 2011 335IS with Dinan stage 2 package which had ZERO problems to C63, not looking good C63!!

Sry to hear about ur misfortune. It sure takes away the enjoyment of owning a brand new car.

I had a CEL the same night a picked up my car, and the engine went on limp
mode. It was caused by a bad 02 sensor. The car has been fine 2 years later.

It still unacceptable though, u would expect a lot more reliability from AMG/MB after paying this much $$. Good luck with ur fix.

Tough luck, man. This isn't representative of the brand or the model, so don't write it off yet. I can't imagine how disappointed you are about this, but your dealer should be jumping through hoops to keep you happy and resolve the issue.

Benz of Mississauga (on Mavis)

Well, it kinda seems as if MB did not want me to know the problem. "A bunch of codes came up" doesn't tell me anything, and when I asked what they meant, I was told to wait until "head office" gets involved -- this doesn't sound like a small issue.

I would request another car if its something major.

I went from this to this (see attachments)...lol (not funny at all in truth).

The Benz sounds amazing though, love the car, but this experience has weaken my expectations.

If it's something serious(I hope it isn't) I would ask them to extend the warranty.

Mate, I just receive my 2013 C63 AMG estate on Tuesday a couple days back and have been blessed so far.

I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate encounter. I am sure everything will pan out ok soon. I could imagine me going off my tit at my dealership if a similar instance to yours.

Let us know how you go with everything and hope everything is sorted soon.

My '09 has been under my ownership for only 6+ months but I've racked up over 15k miles and so far so good (37k+ total). Sure, there will be little gremlins here and there, but for the most part, these engines are supposed to be bulletproof.

With that logic, you'd expect Ferrari's not to catch on fire. Unfortunately, price doesn't equal reliability.

dont feel too bad i got a lemon too. not as serious as your issue, but enough to cause me to get out.

Yeah, too bad price doesn't equal reliability.

Sadly, it seems ppl are accepting these problems better on expensive/high end cars than on cheap/low end cars.

If this would happened with the Honda Civic, I bet the reputation/sales would get affected.

The engine in 2012 model is the same as earlier years. The only new issues really are interior related (rattles) and potential MCT overheating stuff. It does seem like more issues but it wouldn't make sense as the engines are the same... unless they had some issues with a bad batch or something.
