My ADV1s are here! + TPMS question
Here they are! Arent they pretty. Matt @ ADV1 was awesome to deal with. Cant wait to get these on!
and now to my question....
can I run these without TPMS? Will there be an error message or something popping up and will I fail inspection?
Thank you in advanced and I will post picts as soon as they are mounted

Wow, so sexy bro!! Congrats.
U will need TPMS if ur car is US specs, or else u will have a message on ur dash board. U can re-use ur oem though.
Canadian specs cars don't have TPMS in the wheels.. Which is a great thing IMO!

Mine is a Canadian spec car and I have TPMS sensors on all 4 wheels.
My winter wheels do not have TPMS sensors and all I get is a pop up message saying "TPMS not detected" when starting the car and that's it. The message goes away and stays away till I start the car again.
BTW beautiful wheels! Welcome to the ADV1 wheel club!!!!!

^^ It must be new for 2012 models.
I'm glad my 2010 doesn't have TPMS. I hate those sensors... I sneeze & they break!! Lol

In Canada as far as I know, even for 2013s, TPMS is only available if you purchase the performance package, without it you don't get in-wheel TPMS although there is some sort of version that does give low tire indication. It's not the standard TPMS as I used to have a Ford Edge with TPMS and changing tires back in forth between winter and summer was a pain. Always had sync up issues and dash light indicator...drove me crazy.

Sick wheels my friend...now get them mounted already lol. In canada we have ride height sensors which is much better I think. No changing sensors and buying new ones. Some vehicles do have them though.

Thanks guys. I have some PSS getting mounted on them as we speak, hopefully I will have some Picts to share by the end of today!
These wheels look awesome and the build quality is very nice. I do think adv designs some of thr best looking wheels on the market. My only disappointment is that they are quite heavy, I weighed them at 25.4 lbs (rear) so just a little lighter than stock. Oh well, I wasn't expecting Volk mono block lightness and hopefully they are strong.

Beautiful wheels!
I would suggest purchasing TPMS sensors from Tirerack so you won't have to deal with the annoying warning light. It was ~$300 for all 4, if I remember correctly. They may be other vendors with cheaper options if you call around.

got them on, only have 1 ****ty pict right now.
they are 18s which is why they look a little small but i want a meaty tire.
now some questions again lol. I am getting a little vibration at higher speeds. is it just because the tire is new? or are the wheels not hubcentric and i need centering rings (I was assured by ADV1 that they are hubcentric...and they better be for how much they cost) or could it be improperly balanced.
Also, I think my car is pulling to the right more. any thoughts? do I need a new alignment or something after changing wheels?

Looks good! But yeah you're right, it does look a little small. My 19s looked small till I lowered it. Now they look just right.
Hopefully lowering your car will help.
As for the vibrations... All ADV1 wheels made to order will be hubcentric. It's possible your tires weren't balanced properly.

Looks great.. I guess u got what u wanted = meaty tires. I would have done 18's reverse lip or monoblock though. Great job nonetheless!

yup brand new michellin pss.
thanks. yeah alot of people have said that it doesnt look good because it looks too small haha. I swear it looks bigger in person than in that photo and I guess I just like that look rather than a huge rim and tiny tire.

Call ADV and get the torque specs for the wheels. Have your tech torque each wheel to spec, re-mount the tire and check for leaks. I just finished a set for a guy and he was leaking at the rim not the tire. If your really concerned, have them separate the wheels and re apply the silicone and then have them set for 24hrs then assemble them again. A lot of shops that install tires might be a-holes if you destroy a new tire that they have to pay for again.
