I think it's finally going to happen, I'm going to get back into an AMG. What are everyone's thoughts on Diamond White vs. Arctic White? Which do you prefer?

Go Diamond white for sure. Much deeper, whiter & shinier white than arctic/ calcite white. O wish DW were an option 2 years ago... I hate my calcite white, looks dirty white besides my bro DW ISF.

Diamond White over Arctic White anyday.
A properly taken care of metallic paint will look better than non-metallic paint in the sun.

Go diamond. I have it on my estate and it is spectacular, especially in the evening when it gets dark and it starts shimmering in the lights of a gas station or wherever you are.

I'll offer a counterpoint as I went through this myself and chose arctic. Next to the DW it looked whiter, whereas the metallic gives the DW a shimmer that makes it more complex than white. I wanted to really differentiate between the black pieces on the car, so the black contrast vs the arctic looked much sharper.

DW looks awesome don't get me wrong, but it also looks like a prius, or a caddy, or any other luxury car that has offered a metallic white paint. The arctic looks sportier to me.

The pearlescent color changes of Diamond White in various lighting looks amazing. It's beautiful, especially on such a beautiful car.

Both look great, I would lean towards diamond white since it gives the paint more character.

Although, I believe Polar White is the replacement for Arctic White according to the Ordering Guide.

Tough to recommend one over the other. From folks I know (and myself), it depends on if you like flat (i.e., non-metallic, not matte) colors. If you prefer flat, Polar/Arctic is the way to go. If you prefer metallic pearly deepness, Diamond White is one of the most amazing metallic whites out there.

I went with arctic white couldn't be happier, especially after coming out of a black car.

I didn't care for the metallic white, to me its a more feminine color. Sometime you find on a lexus or cadillac suv.

If you ever get into an accident, the DW (assuming it is a 3-stage pearl finish) is harder to match than AW.

I agree with u Sincity, DW (or any 3 stage pearl finish) is very hard to match in case of accident.

eeeks... i wish i had know this was the case before ordering my estate awhile back. oh well, it just means Diamond white owners need to be a lil cautious

I had not metallic white on one of my earlier C class and it is terrible to maintain. When it gets dirty sometimes the dirt appears to get into the paint work. I hated it.

Now with diamond white it is just awesome. The metallic and clear coat over it seems to give it the extra protection and the pearlversant look is brilliant

I've just gone through the same decision making process and have gone with the new Polar white on my C63 Coupe rather than Diamond White. The DW is a 2,000 euro option where I am which did partly influence my decision but the main reason is I think the Polar is more of a pure white and perhaps a bit more sporty and masculine. Each to their own though of course.

IMO for the C63 Coupe: Polar > Diamond > Arctic

The performance package (red brake calipers) is a must.

Correct!! My wife had a 2011 E350 (Diamond White). Some idiot put 3 deep scratches in the door. Could never get the color right. Diamond White is a nice color but too difficult to match.
